Product Overview

Novoflex Adapter for Nikon Mount to Fujifilm X Mount Digital Cameras

One of the most appealing aspects of mirrorless cameras like those of the Fujifilm X series is the availability of a wide range of compatible interchangeable lenses, including non-Fuji lenses. The Adapter for Nikon Mount to Fujifilm X Mount Digital Cameras from Novoflex makes it possible to mount a Nikon lens to your Fujifilm X-Pro1, XE-1 and XM-1 Mirrorless Digital Cameras. This precision mechanical adapter does not transfer functions from the camera to the lens, such as automatic focus, however automatic exposure metering in aperture priority and stop-down metering is possible. The lens will focus on infinity using this adapter. The adapter features an integrated aperture control ring and can be used with lenses that do not come with a manual aperture control ring.

FAQs

Can I use any Nikon lens with the Novoflex Adapter on my Fujifilm camera?

The Novoflex Adapter is designed to work with most Nikon F mount lenses. However, compatibility may vary with certain older or specialty lenses, particularly those with electronic components. Always check specific lens compatibility and ensure that your lens does not rely on electronic communication for critical functions.

How does the integrated aperture control ring affect my shooting experience?

The integrated aperture control ring allows you to manually adjust the aperture of Nikon lenses that lack a dedicated aperture ring. This feature is particularly useful for achieving desired depth of field and exposure settings while shooting in manual or aperture priority mode.

What is meant by 'exact infinity focus' with this adapter?

Exact infinity focus indicates that the adapter is calibrated to ensure that when you set your Nikon lens to focus at infinity, it will achieve sharp focus on distant subjects. This is crucial for landscape photography and other applications where precise focusing is essential.

Will I be able to use autofocus with my Nikon lenses on the Fujifilm camera?

No, the Novoflex Adapter does not support autofocus capabilities since it is a mechanical adapter. You will need to manually focus your Nikon lenses when using this adapter on your Fujifilm camera, which can enhance your control over the composition and focus.

How does the baffled, matte black inside finish benefit my photography?

The baffled, matte black inside finish of the adapter helps to reduce internal reflections and flare, which can degrade image quality. This design feature is particularly beneficial when shooting in challenging lighting conditions, as it helps ensure clearer, more contrast-rich images.

Is there any impact on image quality when using this adapter?

Generally, using the Novoflex Adapter will not significantly affect image quality, provided the adapter is used correctly and the lenses are in good condition. However, optical performance can vary based on the specific lens used, so it's advisable to test different lenses to evaluate results.

Can I use this adapter with video recording on my Fujifilm camera?

Yes, you can use the Novoflex Adapter for video recording. The ability to manually control focus and aperture can offer creative advantages in video work, allowing for more precise control over depth of field and exposure during filming.
