Sony RX10 V Digital Camera

The RX10 V marks the return of Sony’s acclaimed RX10 series, now thoughtfully reimagined for modern photographers and content creators. Retaining the legendary 24-600 mm equivalent ZEISS lens that made previous generations so popular, this fifth-generation model brings the handling and performance of Sony’s full-frame Alpha cameras to a compact superzoom body.

With a larger, more comfortable grip, responsive dials and buttons, and a premium high-resolution viewfinder, the RX10 V delivers an intuitive shooting experience. Powered by dual BIONZ XR processors and an AI Processing Unit, it offers rapid, reliable autofocus and precise framing that significantly surpass its predecessors. Ideal for travel, wildlife, birding and sports photography, it combines extreme telephoto reach with a substantial 1-inch-type sensor and bright F4 aperture at 600 mm.

Tenacious Tracking

Equipped with dual BIONZ XR image processors and a dedicated AI Processing Unit, the RX10 V brings the advanced subject recognition technology of recent Alpha models, such as the Alpha 7R V, to this versatile bridge camera. It features sophisticated human pose estimation and dependable tracking across a wide variety of subjects, including animals, birds, insects, cars, trains and aeroplanes, plus an intelligent auto-detect mode that automatically identifies the subject type.

Acclaimed 25x Zoom Lens Design

At the heart of the RX10 V is the outstanding 24-600 mm equivalent ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens. This sharp, bright and optically stabilised optic provides exceptional versatility across its full range. Eight extra-low dispersion glass elements, including two aspherical elements, deliver crisp, clear image quality from wide-angle landscapes right through to distant wildlife and action.

20.1 Megapixel Exmor RS Sensor

The 20.1 megapixel 1-inch-type stacked Exmor RS sensor enables the fast readout speeds required for blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 30 frames per second and dramatic 4K slow-motion video at 120 frames per second. Its stacked architecture supports rapid data throughput without on-chip storage buffers, optimising performance for both stills and video.

Greater Battery Life

Alongside comprehensive ergonomic and interface upgrades, the RX10 V uses the NP-FZ100 battery found across Sony’s Alpha range. This delivers more than 50% greater battery life than the previous generation, providing approximately 630 shots per charge (CIPA rated, LCD monitor) for extended shooting sessions in the field.

Stills And Video

The RX10 V excels at both still photography and video. It supports 4K recording at 120p, perfect for creating stunning slow-motion footage with the lens’s impressive reach. Audio has also been upgraded: the Multi Interface Shoe now supports Digital Audio Interface, allowing high-quality sound recording and power delivery to compatible accessories without extra cables or batteries.

Improved Connectivity

Sharing images and videos is faster and simpler than ever. The camera includes fast 5 GHz Wi-Fi (2x2 MIMO) support and 4K 30p livestreaming via UVC/UAC. The USB port has been upgraded to USB 3.2 Gen 2, offering transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps (actual performance may be limited by memory card speed).
