Cinematic Video Performance

The Lumix S1 II excels with a comprehensive video feature set, including CinemaScope 4K 60p 4:2:2 10-bit and 6K 30p open gate recording. Higher frame rates enhance creative options, such as 6K 5952x3136 (17:9) at 23.98p with 200Mbps (4:2:0 10-bit LongGOP, H.265/HEVC, LPCM), 5.9K 5888x3312 (16:9) at 59.94p with 300Mbps, and 5.9K at 47.95p with 300Mbps. Log recording is available using V-Log for expansive dynamic range, or ARRI LogC3 for industry-standard colour grading, though the latter requires the Upgrade Software Key (DMW-SFU3A). The partially stacked BSI sensor minimises rolling shutter, while direct SSD backup and ProRes RAW HQ internal recording streamline post-production workflows. Lumix Flow further optimises video production efficiency.

Exceptional Image Quality

The 24.2MP sensor delivers 14+ stops of dynamic range, capturing intricate tonal details for both video and stills. Lumix Colour Science ensures accurate, true-to-life colours, supported by a 5.76 million-dot OLED Live View Finder and tilt/free-angle LCD monitor for precise composition. APC 30 fps burst shooting makes the S1 II versatile for fast-action photography, catering to hybrid creators.

Advanced Autofocus and Stabilisation

Phase Hybrid AF with AI technology provides fast, accurate focus tracking, even in challenging lighting or dynamic scenes. The 8.0-stop 5-axis Body Image Stabilisation (B.I.S.) and cropless E-Stabilisation for video ensure steady, professional-grade footage, enabling confident handheld shooting in any environment.

Workflow and Connectivity

The S1 II enhances productivity with Lumix Lab for effortless media transfer, editing, and sharing, while Frame.io supports cloud-based collaboration. Dual card slots (SDXC and CFexpress Type B) and SSD backup offer flexible, high-speed storage. Integration with Capture One elevates post-processing for all photography genres, delivering professional results across creative workflows.

Creative Versatility

Designed for high-end cine applications, the Lumix S1 II combines open gate recording and Log options (V-Log or ARRI LogC3 with DMW-SFU3A upgrade) to unlock boundless creative possibilities. Its L-Mount system provides access to premium lenses, while the weather-sealed design ensures reliability in adverse conditions. Slightly heavier than the S1 II E, the S1 II prioritises video-centric features, making it an exceptional choice for filmmakers crafting cinematic masterpieces with professional-grade precision.
