Hoya 72mm Pro ND32 Filter
The Hoya 72mm ProND32 Filter is a solid neutral density filter that enables a 5-stop increase in exposure. This creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control the depth of field and convey movement more easily. This filter employs Hoya's metallic ACCU-ND coating on both sides of the substrate to create the neutral density effect and ensure maintained colour neutrality between filter grades. It is constructed from high-quality clear optical glass for notable image clarity and is set within a durable one-piece aluminium filter ring.

They have four main uses:
To enable slow shutter speeds to be used to record movement in subjects such as waterfalls, clouds, cars, seas.
To decrease depth of field by allowing wider apertures to be used, which helps separate subjects from their background. perfect for portraiture.
To decrease the effective ISO (ie: above ISO400) and allow it to be used outdoors in bright situations.
To allow cine and video cameras (that have fixed shutter speeds) to record subjects such as snow, sand or other bright scenes that would normally cause over-expose
