Cutting-edge Optical Tech in a Lens Just 95mm Long

Advances in lens manufacturing have led to a significant reduction in the size and weight of the XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II lens compared to its predecessor. With improved polishing, machining, and advanced assembly techniques, this second-generation lens is now 11mm shorter and approximately 37% lighter. Building on the Renowned Sharpness of XF Zoom Lenses

Retaining the exceptional sharpness of its award-winning predecessor, the XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II lens incorporates an extra ED element to enhance edge sharpness and minimise chromatic aberration. Advances in aspherical lens technology and ultra-fine machining also reduce ring patterns, delivering smooth bokeh effects. Even at the maximum aperture, where zoom lenses traditionally struggle, this lens excels with ultra-fine detail.

Compromise-free Creativity

From wide angle to telephoto, the XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II lens captures every moment with precision. At 16mm, it offers broad coverage; 23mm is perfect for everyday scenes and street photography; and 55mm is ideal for portraiture, allowing you to focus on details. The F2.8 maximum aperture delivers excellent low-light performance, and the unique 11-blade diaphragm ensures smooth, pronounced bokeh.

High-speed, Near-silent Autofocus with No Drop in Performance

Despite its compact size, the XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II lens boasts exceptional autofocus performance, thanks to a specially designed linear motor. It enables fast and near-silent autofocus. With a minimum focusing distance of 0.3m and a maximum magnification of 0.21x, this lens offers impressive capabilities for close-up images.

New Features for Hybrid Creation

Although primarily designed for still photography, the XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II lens meets the needs of video creators. For the first time on an XF Lens, a switch allows users to disable the aperture ring's click stops, offering smooth and near-silent exposure control, free from clicks and vibrations.

Compact, Lightweight, and Weather-resistant

The most dramatic moments often occur in challenging weather conditions. The XF16-55mmF2.8 R LM WR II lens is designed to be dust and moisture-resistant when paired with a weather-resistant X Series body, making it ideal for working in nearly any condition. Create without worrying about water droplets, sand, dust, or low temperatures down to -10°C.
