Introducing the next generation of filters for the 4x5.65 Matte Boxes - Tilta Illusion.

This filter is the new, in house manufactured 4x5.65 filter designed for the any Matte Box with a 4x5.65 filter tray including the Mirage Matte Box.

This filter is available in various levels of Neutral Density, providing users greater control over their exposure.

This allows users to reduce light visible to the sensor, allowing you to open up your aperture when shooting in brighter lighting environments like daylight.

Full Spectrum ND Filters evenly reduce all wavelengths of light including visible light, ultra violet, and infra-red.

Traditional ND filters do not meet digital requirements spectrally: they block visible light but transmit too much far-red light. This leads to colour distortions that cannot easily be corrected in post-production. Most importantly, the Tilta 'Illusion' Series Full Spectrum Neutral Density Filters (FSND) eliminate far-red ('IR') contamination without affecting skin tones.

The FSND filter reduces light, which is extremely beneficial for shooting in bright conditions, especially when a larger aperture or slower shutter speed is required. By using FSND filters, photographers gain enhanced control over exposure to achieve the desired effects, such as blurring motion, capturing flowing water, or creating long exposure effects.

In certain scenarios, such as shooting High Dynamic Range (HDR) or capturing scenes with a bright sky and darker landscapes, light can vary significantly. Utilizing FSND filters aids in balancing these brightness levels, ensuring a more uniformly exposed shot and preventing issues of overexposure or underexposure.

While producing accurate colors, using FSND filters reduces light. Testing indicates that FSND filters uniformly reduce the levels in the light spectrum, meaning the overall spectral curve remains consistent. This means that light intensity for various colors is proportionally diminished, and does not result in colour bias.
