Tilta 95mm Variable ND for Mirage

Reduce the exposure of your image without touching the iris, ISO, or shutter speed by using the 95mm Variable ND Filter for Mirage Matte Box from Tilta. It slides into the Mirage, or it can be clamped directly onto a 95mm lens with the Lightweight Filter Clamp-On Adapter (available separately).

The Variable ND reduces the exposure by 1 to 9 stops, enabling you to keep the iris wide open for a shallow depth of field, abide by the 180° rule regarding shutter speed, and optimise your ISO to boost dynamic range. Rotate the VND, either by hand or via an optional wireless motor, to find the density that blocks the maximum amount of extraneous light, freeing the other elements of the camera to pursue a specific artistic effect.

Colour Fidelity throughout Entire Range

This variable ND filter is designed to have a minimal impact on the colour of the light that reaches your sensor.

For the Mirage Matte Box

This variable ND slides snugly into the Tilta Mirage, ensuring that a lens with a 95mm front diameter is perfectly covered. Alternatively, it can be clamped directly onto the lens via the Lightweight Filter Clamp-On Adapter (available separately).

Compatible with the Wireless Motor

The module that controls the VND rotation is compatible with the Tilta Wireless Motor (available separately), enabling camera operators to remotely control the variable ND's rotation to find its desired effect.

The Physics of Variable Neutral Density Filters

Variable NDs consist of two polarised layers that block increasingly more light the closer to perpendicular they are to one another. This ND has hard stops before reaching the maximum and minimum settings to prevent unwanted X-pattern interference and reduce autofocus and light metering issues caused by the polarised layers.
