Sony FX5 Full-Frame Cinema Camera with DVF-EL1 OLED Viewfinder and 3x Sony NP-SA100 Batteries

The Sony FX5 empowers filmmakers to step confidently into the next stage of their professional journey. Bringing an advanced cinema look and refined operability together in a compact body, it gives creators the freedom to realise their vision with greater precision, control and expressive potential.

Cinema-Class Image Quality

At the heart of the FX5 is a 5K full-frame fully-stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor, built for speed, detail and latitude. Fast readout enables high-resolution, high-frame-rate recording, while wide latitude and low noise ensure smooth gradation and natural textures, even in high-contrast scenes. It's all backed by the BIONZ XR2 processor with integrated AI for enhanced shooting support.

Open Gate and Flexible Image Scan Modes

The FX5 offers full-frame Open Gate recording, a first in the Cinema Line FX series. With 5K up to 120 fps (FF 3:2), 4K up to 240 fps (FF crop) and more, you have the freedom to adjust framing, speed and workflow to realise even the most ambitious vision.

Internal X-OCN RAW Recording

Capture 16-bit scene-linear X-OCN internally, eliminating the need for an external RAW data recorder. With LT, C1 and C2 codecs, you can balance image quality, file size and RAW workflow flexibility to suit the production.

Three Base ISO Settings

Three Base ISO settings are available to match your shooting environment: a standard ISO 800, a mid-sensitivity ISO 4000 and a high-sensitivity ISO 12800 for low light. Capture clean shadows and wide latitude across varied lighting conditions, for consistently stunning clarity.

Dual Gain Shooting

Making its debut in the Cinema Line FX series, Dual Gain Shooting maximises latitude while reducing noise to enhance shadow details. Making full use of the sensor's capability, it delivers smooth, natural gradients for greater editing flexibility.

High-Quality Audio Recording

With up to 96 kHz/32bit float audio and up to 4 channels of top-quality recording, the FX5 helps you capture cleaner sound without slowing down the shoot. The XLR handle unit supports two XLR/TRS inputs and a 3.5 mm stereo mini jack.

Intelligent Autofocus and Connectivity

Fast, reliable phase-detection AF with up to 759 points and AI-based Subject Recognition keeps your subject sharp. A 3.5-type 16:9 touch-panel monitor makes operation intuitive, while Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands), wired LAN up to 2.5GBASE-T and Bluetooth 5.3 keep you connected on set.

Ready for Your Next Production

Whether you're shooting documentaries, commercials, music videos or independent film, the FX5 delivers cinema-class imagery and professional flexibility in a compact, ready-to-shoot body. Complete with the NPSA100 battery and BCSAD1 dual charger included in the box, it's everything you need to take your next production further.

Sony DVF-EL1 OLED Viewfinder for Sony FX5

The detachable tilt-type OLED Viewfinder DVF-EL1 enables accurate confirmation of focus and exposure, even in bright outdoor environments. Its 0.58-type OLED panel delivers approximately 7.07 million dots of resolution, with a DCI-P3 equivalent colour gamut, 10-bit display and HDR monitoring support for superb colour detail. Tiltable from 0 to 90 degrees, it adapts to your shooting position and supports immersive image creation, giving you confidence in every shot.

Sony NP-SA100 Battery

The Sony NP-SA100 is a high-capacity 2670 mAh SA-type rechargeable battery pack designed for photographers and content creators who demand reliable, long-lasting power. This premium battery delivers exceptional performance, supplying energy for up to 600 stills when using the viewfinder or up to 710 stills when using the monitor on the Sony Alpha 7R VI, based on CIPA standards.

Featuring advanced InfoLITHIUM technology, the NP-SA100 provides accurate, real-time remaining battery power indication, while compatible cameras display a clear 3-level battery health status to help monitor its long-term condition. Additionally, two NP-SA100 batteries can be fully charged in approximately 115 minutes using the dedicated Sony BC-SAD1 charger, ensuring minimal downtime between shoots.

Engineered for consistent and dependable operation, the Sony NP-SA100 high-capacity rechargeable battery pack is the ideal choice for professionals and enthusiasts seeking maximum endurance and peace of mind during extended photography sessions.
