  • Reduced Focus and Axial shift when zooming during video recording.

  • Centralised weight distribution at different focal lengths, removing the need to re-balance the gimbal when there is a change in focal length.

 

Excellent close-up performance

Superior optical design and the latest floating focus mechanism enable close-up shooting as close as 22 centimetres with a magnification factor of 0.32x across the entire zoom range, delivering images with beautifully smooth bokeh.

 

Speed advantage achieved by XD Linear Motors

  • Quad (4) XD Linear Motors delivers fast, precise AF that enables high-speed continuous shooting at up to 30fps.

  • Accurate and smooth autofocus for slow motion 4K/8K video capture

  • The SEL1635GM2 delivers up to twice the AF speed over the SEL1635GM

 

Professional reliability

The FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM II has been designed for improved dust and moisture resistance compared to the previous model. All seams feature structural sealing, buttons and switches are fitted with silicone rubber gaskets and a rubber ring seals the lens mount. The front lens element has a fluorine coat that repels water, oil and other
contaminants.
