18 Optical Elements Arranged in 14 Groups

The incredible image resolution is achieved by a sophisticated optical construction that consists of 18 lens elements arranged in 14 groups. The design utilises a hybrid aspherical lens, two aspherical lenses, two extra-low dispersion lenses and three highly refractive lenses that ensure edge to edge sharpness while keeping chromatic aberrations and colour fringing to an absolute minimum.

Built-in AE Microprocessor

The lens features an integrated AE chip that allows in-camera focus confirmation to be used when manual focusing the lens and allows you to adjust the aperture directly from the camera. This means you can shoot in a choice of exposure modes such as Auto/P/A/S/M giving you better automatic control than previous Samyang lenses.

Ultra-Multi-Coating

The optical elements make use of Samyang‚Äôs proprietary ultra-multi coating in order to reduce flare and ghosting, while at the same time improving contrast and colour neutrality in the presence of a strong light source.
