Olympus 8-16x40 S Zoom Binoculars

The Olympus 8-16x40 S Zoom Binoculars feature a powerful zoom capability that offers an immersive viewing experience. You can scan the terrain for objects of interest on low power and dial up the magnification to make detailed observations and identification at long ranges.

Their traditional Porro prisms present you with a rich depth of field that allows you to more easily discern the distances between objects in your view for a real "3D" experience. Anti-reflection coated optics maximise the light entering the objectives to produce bright and clear images with accurate colours and crisp resolution. A knurled centre focus wheel and an elastic polymer armored grip assist handling and give you precise control of the optic, while fold-down eyecups provide comfortable use with or without eyewear.

Optical Performance

Versatile zoom range allows you to scan the terrain on low power and dial up the magnification for detailed observation and identification.

Powerful magnification range from 8x to 16x is ideal for nearly all glassing needs.

40mm objective lenses boost low-light capability without adding excessive weight and heft.

Traditional Porro prism optical path produces a rich depth of field with a true stereoscopic vision for a more "3D" viewing experience.

6-element/4-group lens design helps to reduce fringing and distortion, making views appear sharp and flat with little edge curvature through the zoom range.

Anti-reflection coated optics improve light transmission, contrast, and colour rendition.

262-foot field of view at 1000 yards on 8x, 178 feet on 16x.

Use and Handling

Large textured slip-resistant centre focusing wheel is easy to manipulate, even when wearing gloves.

60-70mm interpupillary distance adjustment range.

Fold-down rubber eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewear.

12mm eye relief on 8x, 10mm on 16x.

Wide 5mm exit pupil on low power ensures coverage of pupils when dilated in low light.
