NiSi Aureus Prime 50mm T1.4 Full Frame Cinema Lens (PL Mount) – The Cinematic Standard

Classic Perspective with Cinematic Impact

The NiSi Aureus Prime 50mm T1.4 Full Frame Cinema Lens offers a timeless perspective with an image character that feels both intimate and natural. Perfect for dialogue, portraits, and medium shots, the 50mm is the quintessential "standard" lens-and a staple in any cinematographer's toolkit.

Covering a 46mm image circle and optimised for full-frame cinema cameras, the 50mm provides sharp, clean imagery with a cinematic look that's versatile for narrative, commercial, and documentary applications.

Bright Aperture, Beautiful Bokeh

The fast T1.4 maximum aperture enables strong low-light performance and the ability to isolate subjects with creamy bokeh. The 11-blade aperture produces smooth, natural background blur while maintaining sharpness on the subject, enhancing emotional depth and focus.

This makes the 50mm ideal for emotionally charged moments, interviews, and visual storytelling that emphasises character and connection.

Optics Designed for Professional Results

Built with a sophisticated optical design, the 50mm Aureus Prime minimises chromatic aberrations, distortions, and flares while maximising resolution and tonal accuracy. Multi-layer coatings ensure contrast and clarity are maintained even when shooting wide open or under challenging lighting conditions.

From edge to edge, the lens maintains high contrast and fine detail-critical for today's high-resolution workflows.

No Focus Breathing, Full Control

The 50mm delivers virtually zero focus breathing, allowing for professional focus transitions that don't disturb composition. Its extended 300° focus rotation offers precise manual control, enabling operators to confidently track or shift focus across subjects and scenes.

Reliable Build and Streamlined Form Factor

Despite its robust, all-metal construction, the 50mm weighs only 1300g and features a compact design-suitable for all types of setups, from cinema rigs to lightweight handheld gimbals. The front diameter is a consistent 90mm, and it includes an 86mm filter thread, ensuring seamless compatibility with accessories and matte boxes.

The integrated rear filter slot allows filmmakers to fine-tune their image with ND or diffusion filters without bulky front-mounted glass.

Ready for Any Set, Any Scene

With glow-in-the-dark markings for easy visibility, swappable focus scales (feet/meters), and matched gear positions across the lens set, the 50mm is designed to keep productions moving quickly and efficiently.

Consistent Across the Series

Color-matched and optically harmonised with the entire Aureus Prime and Athena Prime series, the 50mm ensures consistency across every focal length-making it easy to maintain a coherent visual tone and match footage in post-production.

The Foundation of Any Prime Kit

The NiSi Aureus Prime 50mm T1.4 is a must-have lens for filmmakers seeking classic perspective, outstanding sharpness, and true cinematic feel. It's the perfect blend of reliability, creativity, and performance.
