Nikon Nikkor Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR Lens

Nikon Nikkor Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR Lens

The NIKKOR Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR is a high-magnification zoom lens that covers a broad range of focal lengths - from 28 mm to 400 mm, making it the first of its kind in the NIKKOR Z lens lineup.

It realises powerful imaging expression by capturing the finest details or facial expressions of distant subjects with an approximate 14.2x zoom, the highest in its class zoom ratio. Even in situations where the distance to the subject continuously changes, such as sporting events, amusement park attractions, and parade shows, users can enjoy shooting in a variety of situations with just this one lens.

In addition, with the minimum focus distance of 0.2 m at the maximum wide-angle position and 1.2 m at the maximum telephoto position, this lens is also suitable for capturing close-ups and tabletop photos at short distances.

With a maximum reproduction ratio of 0.35x, it is possible to capture subjects in a larger size, allowing for delicate depiction, such as with plants. While in the telephoto range, images in which the background is blurred can be expressed by getting closer to subjects.

Although it is a super-telephoto lens with a range of up to 400 mm, the compact and lightweight design gives it a weight of only approximately 725g, the lightest in its class, making it easy to carry around not only while travelling but on an everyday basis as well.

The NIKKOR Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR also adopts a stepping motor (STM) that enables fast autofocus drive, allowing rapid focus on moving subjects. It also has a vibration-reduction function with stabilisation performance equivalent to a 5.0-stop increase in shutter speed, which is very effective for hand-held shooting. Furthermore, the NIKKOR Z 28-400mm f/4-8 VR supports linear MF operation to facilitate focusing on the intended subject during video recording.
