Product Overview

Nikon Forestry Pro II Laser Range Finder

Meet the Nikon Laser Forestry Pro II Laser Range Finder - measuring faster and further. The Nikon Laser Forestry Pro II Laser Range Finder is an evolved model of the current Forestry Pro which has been highly acclaimed as a simple surveying instrument for forestry. Inheriting functions useful for simple measurement that the existing model employs such as actual distance, horizontal distance, height, angle and vertical separation (difference in height between two targets) measurement functions, and three-point measurement (height between two points), the Forestry Pro II extends the maximum measurement range with improved accuracy of measured results, as evolved points. Also, the measurement response time until results are displayed has been shortened. This new model achieves measurement of longer distances than the original Forestry Pro while providing a more accurate and faster response.

FAQs

What are the main advantages of using the Nikon Forestry Pro II over its predecessor?

The Nikon Forestry Pro II offers several enhancements over its predecessor, including an extended measurement range of up to 1,600 metres, improved accuracy, and a faster response time of approximately 0.3 seconds for displaying results. The external display is larger and has a higher pixel count, making it easier to read in various lighting conditions, thanks to the adjustable backlighting feature. Additionally, the log function allows users to store up to 250 measurement results for convenient access, streamlining the surveying process.

How does the Target Priority Switch System work, and why is it beneficial?

The Target Priority Switch System allows users to select which target to measure in environments with multiple overlapping subjects. By using the First Target Priority Mode, you can measure the closest object, which is particularly useful in dense wooded areas. Conversely, the Distant Target Priority Mode enables you to focus on the furthest subject. This feature minimizes errors in measurement and enhances efficiency, making it easier to obtain accurate readings in complex settings.

Can the Nikon Forestry Pro II be used for applications outside forestry, and if so, what are some examples?

Yes, the Nikon Forestry Pro II is versatile and suitable for various applications beyond forestry. For instance, in real estate, it helps measure property boundaries and room dimensions accurately. In construction, it allows for quick distance checks and obstacle identification. Additionally, it can be effectively used in mining for precise measurements during blasting operations, as well as in airports for runway safety inspections. Its capabilities are also beneficial in sports like golf and hunting for accurate distance measurement.

What features make the Nikon Forestry Pro II suitable for outdoor use?

The Nikon Forestry Pro II is designed with durability in mind, featuring a compact and lightweight body that is waterproof up to 1 metre for 10 minutes. This allows it to withstand challenging weather conditions that may be encountered outdoors. The high-quality 6x monocular with multilayer coating ensures bright and clear images, while the long eye relief and dioptre adjustment provide comfortable viewing, even for those wearing glasses. These features collectively enhance its usability in various outdoor environments.

How does the logging function enhance the usability of the Nikon Forestry Pro II?

The logging function of the Nikon Forestry Pro II allows users to store up to 250 measurement results in numerical order. This feature is invaluable for professionals who require accurate records of their measurements without interrupting their workflow. Instead of stopping to take notes, users can continue measuring while the device keeps track of previous readings. This efficiency not only saves time but also helps in maintaining an organised record for future reference.

Is the Nikon Forestry Pro II suitable for use in low light conditions?

Yes, the Nikon Forestry Pro II is equipped with a backlit external display that enhances visibility in low light conditions. Users can adjust the brightness of the backlight to three different levels, ensuring that measurement results are easily readable even in dark environments, such as dense forests at dusk or dawn. This feature significantly improves usability for outdoor activities that may extend into lower light situations.
