Print Templates

Mirage 5 features advanced print templates built around flexible "slots," which are defined areas where images can be placed, rotated, scaled, and layered freely. Slots can overlap fully or partially and be arranged in different stacking orders, offering extensive layout control. Each slot is automatically numbered, and multiple slots can share the same number, allowing a single image to populate all matching slots simultaneously-ideal for applications like passport or ID photos. Users can also apply pixel or vector masks to control visible areas, and any custom layout can be saved as a reusable template for efficient, repeatable workflows.

Template Editor

The integrated Template Editor allows users to create custom, labour-saving templates using an intuitive interface tailored for design flexibility. Users can apply solid colours or import custom images as backgrounds, adjust slot size and positioning through the Slot Frame settings, and define how images scale within slots. Individual masks can also be assigned per slot, providing precise creative control and making it easy to produce both simple and complex layouts.

Free Layout of Files on the Spread

Mirage 5 enables complete freedom when arranging images, allowing users to move, resize, rotate, and layer files independently across the print area. With support for overlapping elements, users can create collages, multi-image compositions, and multi-page designs such as photo albums without limitation. Any layout can be instantly converted into a reusable template, combining creative flexibility with workflow efficiency.

Clear Program Interface

The redesigned interface of Mirage 5 streamlines the workflow by consolidating all tools into a single, organised workspace. Files can be dragged directly into the Print Preview area, while the improved menu structure groups functions logically for easy navigation. The Mirage Job Archive is now fully integrated, eliminating the need for a separate application, and features like "Start Over" allow users to quickly reset the workspace without restarting the software.

Improved Print Preview

The enhanced print preview displays all pages side by side in a clear, scrollable layout, making it easy to review multi-page jobs. Navigation controls allow quick movement between pages, while pixel-accurate rendering ensures precise alignment, colour accuracy, and layout verification before printing, helping to minimise errors.

File & Templates Browser

The File & Templates Browser provides a comprehensive overview of loaded images and available templates, making it easy to manage large projects. Users can preview, search, filter, and sort files based on criteria such as placement status or orientation, and quickly drag and drop items into the layout, significantly improving workflow speed and organisation.

Multiple Print Jobs at the Same Time

Mirage 5 allows users to create, manage, and process multiple print jobs simultaneously, offering enhanced flexibility in busy production environments. Jobs can be prepared, paused, deleted, or reprinted independently, enabling users to prioritise urgent tasks without disrupting ongoing work.

"Undo/Redo" Function

The Undo/Redo feature provides full control over workflow adjustments, allowing users to reverse or reapply changes made to layouts or settings at any time. This includes manual image positioning and settings modifications, and once a job is printed, the "Print" button changes to "Print Again" if no changes have been made, enabling fast and efficient reprints.

Improved Handling/Placement of Embedded Logos

Mirage 5 simplifies logo integration by allowing users to scale, position, and adjust logos directly within the print preview using intuitive on-screen controls. This ensures precise placement and consistent branding without the need for external design software.

New Tools for Image Editing

Mirage 5 includes a range of non-destructive image editing tools that can be applied directly within the software. Features include Gaussian blur and drop shadow effects with adjustable parameters such as opacity, direction, softness, offset, and colour. Additional tools include auto colour, contrast, exposure, white balance, sharpening, and support for Photoshop filters, all with pixel-accurate preview for precise control.

New Print Mode "Only Black Ink"

For supported printers and media combinations, Mirage 5 offers an "Only Black Ink" mode, which uses pure black ink instead of grey inks. This mode is ideal for producing high-contrast monochrome prints and specialised outputs requiring deep, consistent blacks.

Settings Option "Simulation"

The Simulation feature provides advanced proofing capabilities, allowing users to preview how prints will appear on different printers. By applying CMYK profiles, users can accurately simulate output conditions, ensuring colour consistency and reducing costly printing errors.

Additional Print Marks

Mirage 5 enhances finishing precision with advanced print mark options, including inset crop marks to prevent white edges. The "Page Print Marks" feature allows marks to be applied across the entire layout rather than per image, with adjustable spacing to suit specific requirements, ensuring accurate trimming and professional results.

Support for Current Operating Systems

Mirage 5 is fully compatible with modern operating systems including macOS Ventura, Windows 11, and current Adobe Creative Cloud versions, while also supporting Windows 10 and macOS High Sierra as minimum requirements. Built as a native 64-bit application, it delivers improved performance when handling large files and multiple jobs, along with support for advanced features such as 16-bit processing and professional colour workflows.
