The 96Wh IDX SB-U98 PD 14.4V Li-Ion Battery for Sony BP-U Mount Cameras is compatible with USB PD (Power Delivery), a charging standard for digital devices. Many digital devices such as smartphones, tablet terminals, and notebook PCs can be charged with USB PD. USB, which is an international standard. The battery's internal circuitry provides over-charge, over-discharge, and high load overcurrent protection.

An optional USB PD charger allows charging anytime, anywhere.

A pocket-sized USB PD charger can be used, so you can easily charge it even when you are on the go.

USB PD enables high-speed charging with high power

High-speed charging is possible with the UC-PD1 and UC-PD2 (UC-PD2 Avail. late 2022), which are capable of USB PD charging up to 65W per channel. SB-U50/PD is charged at PD 30W and takes about 115 minutes, and SB-U98/PD is charged at PD 45W and takes about 170 minutes.


*Charging time varies depending on the frequency of use of the battery and the charging environment.

*The USB output port is not a data port and is only for power. It provides Type-C PD45W (maximum) (5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/2.25A)

*Charging your battery via the standard D-Tap is not available.
