Overview

The XF30mmF2.8 R LM WR Macro is a standard prime lens with the focal length of 30mm (46mm full frame equivalent). Compared tot he conventional standard lens, this product has a substantially reduced minimum working distance and greatly improved close-up performance, capable of macro photography at a 1:1 magnification ratio. Despite being a highly versatile standard lend, it has virtually no contraint in terms of working distance from subject matter. The ability to shoot dynamic true 1:1 macro photography means users can enjoy getting up close to a subject in limited spaces, as well as a wide range of categories including portraiture and snapshots to take advantage of natural perspectives. The compact design of the lens makes it possible to take maximum advantage of X Series' portability, offering unconstrained photographic experiences.

The XF30mmF2.8 R LM WR Macro, which consists of 11 elements in nine groups including three aspherical elements and two ED elements, is a standard prime lens capable of 1:1 magnification macro photography at the minimum shooting distance of just 10cm despite its compact design. Due to the X Series' use of a APS-C image sensor, a subject is photographed 1.5 times larger than its full-frame equivalent. This lens also uses the inner Focus system, in which a linear motor drives the focussing group of elements to deliver fast and accurate AF. The focusing operation is quiet and smooth even for close-ups, which involve large movement of focusing elements.
