This premium black ink cartridge is filled with Canon's famous Lucia pigment ink that has been specifically programmed and designed to produce an exceptional gamut of photo black for producing the highest quality coloured images for a broad range of uses and professional demands.

The print quality of this Canon PFI-1000 Photo Black Lucia ink cartridge is quite amazing and a breakthrough for Canon in the large and wide format reprographic market.

Prints produced are highly resistant to abrasions and scratches because silicone oil has been added to the ink formulation. This also helps the printer maintain a relatively high speed and makes handling the finished product easier.

Advanced ink droplet placement ensures an improved balance and mixture of all the inks utilised.

This particular Lucia PRO photo black ink has been specially formulated to produce professional quality monochrome prints with increased black density and with a wider dynamic range compared to others like the Pixma PRO.

The technology for producing the print is known as thermal inkjet. Ink is applied to the media page by using a heated element to expand the ink from a cartridge housing and into and through a number of fine print head nozzles. The resulting images are produced at superior quality resolution levels compared to other types of print technologies like laser and dot matrix type printing engines.

The ink system, although underpinned by conventional inkjet technology system, has been improved upon by Canon to reduce the bronzing effect typically seen in photo type finishes, making it an ideal choice for the professional artist or photographer. Furthermore, this advanced image processing system intelligently corrects the balance and mixture of inks to further assist with quality output and production speed.

The cartridge comes with a large 80ml ink volume tank, so you'll get to print a lot more between changes. Plus you'll avoid the hassle of running out prematurely and get greater longevity between cartridge changes. This helps minimise waste and increases productivity to enhance total cost efficiency.
