Built around a full-frame 36 x 24mm sensor delivering 12K resolution and 16 stops of dynamic range, this camera records Blackmagic RAW while simultaneously streaming via 100 Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or mobile data to Blackmagic Cloud or live platforms, making it ideal for high-end drama, commercial work, and broadcast productions where remote monitoring and instant media delivery matter.

Cinematic Large-Format Sensor with RGBW Architecture

The 12K full-frame sensor features equal amounts of red, green, blue, and white pixels, delivering rich colours at every resolution from 4K to 12K without cropping. In-sensor scaling maintains your lens's full field of view regardless of recording format, while 16 stops of dynamic range capture detail in highlights and shadows that would be lost on traditional broadcast cameras.

PL Mount Installed with EF Mount Included

This version ships with a PL lens mount installed, with an EF mount also included in the box. Switch between cinema PL glass for controlled production environments and autofocus EF lenses for fast-paced documentary or run-and-gun work. Lens metadata is read through contact pins for monitoring and post-production workflows. Optional ARRI LPL and B4 mounts are also available separately.

Built for High-End Production Environments

The magnesium alloy chassis with carbon fibre composite skin balances durability with portability. Dual 5-inch HDR touchscreens (1500 cd/m² brightness) include a fold-out monitor for operators and a dedicated assist station for focus pullers, eliminating the need for external monitors on many shoots. Backlit buttons remain visible in low light, while standard LEMO and Fischer connectors provide camera control, lens motor power, and 24V accessory power without additional cabling.

Multiple Recording Formats and Frame Rates

Record 12K at 100 fps (12,288 x 6480 17:9) or 120 fps (2.4:1 widescreen), 8K at 224 fps (2.4:1), and 4.6K B4 crop at 240 fps with the optional B4 mount. The sensor supports 3:2 open gate, anamorphic formats with multiple de-squeeze factors (1.3x, 1.5x, 1.6x, 1.66x, 1.8x, 2x), and Super 35 modes (9K 4-perf, 3-perf, 2-perf) for compatibility with classic cinema lenses. All formats are captured in Blackmagic RAW with constant quality or constant bit rate encoding options.

Built-In ND Filters

Motorised 2-stop, 4-stop, and 6-stop ND filters are colour-balanced to match the camera's sensor and filter both optical and infrared wavelengths evenly. Filter values display as ND numbers, stop reduction, or fractions on the LCD.

Generation 5 Colour Science

Blackmagic's latest film curve extracts maximum colour data from the sensor, delivering accurate skin tones and better rendering of highly saturated colours in high-contrast scenes. The technology works with all Blackmagic RAW files, including footage shot on previous Blackmagic cameras.

Live Streaming and Cloud Workflows

Stream directly to platforms via RTMP and SRT protocols, or send live feeds to Blackmagic ATEM Streaming Bridge for wireless video village monitoring. Connect via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or mobile data by tethering an iOS or Android phone to the USB-C port. The camera automatically creates H.264 proxy files alongside full-resolution media, uploading proxies to Blackmagic Cloud in real time so editors worldwide can begin work immediately while high-resolution files transfer overnight.

High-Performance Recording Media

This kit includes the Media Module 8TB, which uses removable M.2 SSDs that slot directly into Blackmagic Media Dock for fast file transfer to editing systems or network storage. An 8TB module captures over four hours of 12K Blackmagic RAW or 20 hours in 4K.

Advanced Monitoring and Metadata Tools

On-screen overlays display histogram, false colour, zebras, frame guides, focus peaking, and recording parameters. The digital slate system auto-advances take numbers and reel numbers, captures lens metadata automatically, and stores production information within Blackmagic RAW files for use in DaVinci Resolve during editing and grading.

Wireless Bluetooth Control

Control the camera remotely from up to 9 metres away using the Blackmagic Camera Control app on iPad or third-party apps on iOS and Android devices. Trigger recording, adjust settings, and enter metadata on jib, gimbal, or crane-mounted cameras without physical access to the unit.

Flexible Power Options

This kit includes a 24V 250W power supply and a B-Mount battery plate, letting you power the camera from mains or standard cinema batteries straight out of the box. The 8-pin LEMO connector also accepts 12V power from a wide range of battery systems. Front LEMO and Fischer connectors provide power for lens motors and accessories directly from the camera.

Includes DaVinci Resolve Studio

A full licence for DaVinci Resolve Studio is included, providing professional editing, colour correction, visual effects, and audio post-production in a single application. Native Blackmagic RAW support ensures lossless workflows from camera to final delivery.
