Sony A7R VI Mirrorless Camera (Body Only)

Beyond the core technology, the Alpha 7R VI is designed as a supremely refined tool, with unstinting attention to detail throughout. A new battery system, improved ergonomics, 4-axis tilt screen, self-illuminated buttons and beautifully detailed screens deliver a photography experience that truly satisfies.

Rapid Capture

Thanks to a massive upgrade in sensor readout speed, the A7R VI provides triple the maximum drive speed of its predecessor, at 30 frames per second, at full resolution RAW. In addition to this jaw-dropping headline, improved sensor readout speed also enables major upgrades to AF tracking speed, with 60 AF/AE cycles per second providing massive improvements to AF hit rates and focus tenacity.

Flagship Image Stabilisation System

The Alpha 7R VI utilises an upgraded 5-axis in-body image stabilisation system which delivers up to 8.5-step1 stabilisation. An updated stabilisation algorithm paired with a high-precision gyro sensor provides detection and control right down to the single-pixel level, ensuring crisp and clear images, even on longer lenses at dawn and dusk.

Stills and Video

Although it is designed as a stills photographers' camera first, the A7R VI is an incredibly capable filmmaking tool thanks to its fully-stacked sensor. 4K 60p and 8K 30p are availabile with no sensor crop, and 120p is also available from a Super35 area of the sensor. Audio is also upgraded, with the 7R VI being fully compatible with the new XLR-A4 XLR adapter for high quality 32-bit float audio.

Depth and Detail

The Alpha 7R VI's Exmor RS Sensor is supported by the latest advances in Sony image processing technology, including an expanded 16-stop dynamic range during mechanical shutter capture, and powerful extended RAW processing modes that allow multiple RAW image captures to be combined into a final image with enhanced noise, enhanced detail, or extended dynamic range.

Stamina

In addition to the extraordinary new capabilities it brings to the table, the Alpha 7R VI also delivers on reliability, with a massive 600 shot CIPA rated battery life, or 135 minutes of continuous video recording, thanks to the new SA series battery. Not only is battery life outstanding, but heat management is also outstanding, allowing 120 minutes of continous 8K 30p recording without thermal shutdown.

Improved Usability

Among all these technological advances, usability has not been neglected. The Alpha 7R VI boasts the acclaimed 4-axis tilt screen from the Alpha 9 III and Alpha 1 II. In a first for the Alpha series, the camera now has self-illuminated buttons, making operation simple and easy for Astro and other low-light applications. Grip design has also been updated, with a slightly broader design that borrows design cues from the flagship A1 II and A9 III cameras.
