Overview

Voigtlander NOKTON Vintage Line 50mm f/1.5 Aspherical II SC Lens (Nickel) - Leica M Mount

Stylish in appearance, exacting in performance, the nickel Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.5 Aspherical II SC is a sleek normal-length prime M-mount lens distinguished by its speed and classic rendering. The bright f/1.5 maximum aperture suits working in low-light conditions and also enables greater control over depth of field for isolating subjects using selective focus. The optical design includes one double-sided aspherical element, which helps to deliver high sharpness and low distortion by suppressing a variety of aberrations. This lens also features a single coating, as opposed to a more common multi-layered coating, which offers a subtler image quality with slightly reduced contrast that is especially well-suited to black and white photography. Its manual focus design permits working with subjects as close as 2.3' away and a 12-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality to suit working with shallow depth of field.

Features:

As part of Voigtlander's Vintage Line of lenses, this lens features a classic nickel finish to give it a classic appeal, reminiscent of historic Voigtlander lenses, that is well-matched to classic rangefinder camera designs.

Fast f/1.5 maximum aperture helps control depth of field for shallow depth of field shooting, and also benefits working in difficult lighting conditions.

One large diameter, the double-sided aspherical element is incorporated at the rear of the optical construction and helps to limit spherical aberrations and distortions.

The single-layer coating helps to reduce flare and ghosting for improved contrast and colour neutrality, however, this coating is intentionally less effective than common multi-layered coatings in order to produce a dreamy, less contrast-rich image quality well-suited to black and white imagery.

Manual focus design enables a minimum focusing distance of 2.3'.

A 12-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality.

Compatible with optional LH-6 lens hood.
