High-Performance Sensor

The Explore's Sony 1" CMOS sensor delivers broadcast-grade imaging with high performance in low light. It captures vivid detail with minimal noise while achieving cinematic depth of field, and enhanced light sensitivity ensures razor-sharp subject focus with artful background blur.

PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus)

Experience seamless and precise focusing with advanced AI phase detection autofocus (PDAF). Whether for live events or VR production, PDAF autofocus empowers you with fast and accurate focus for premium-quality footage.

NDI and NDI | HX Support

The Explore PTZ camera supports both NDI and NDI|HX3, offering flexible, high-efficiency video streaming options. NDI provides high-quality, low-latency video over IP networks, while NDI|HX optimises bandwidth usage for smoother performance in network-constrained environments.

Professional 4K Video Output

The Explore offers diverse output options, ensuring 4K60 resolution output through NDI, NDI|HX, 12G-SDI, HDMI, and SFP+. This ensures uncompressed, high-quality video output with minimal latency, making it ideal for professional broadcasting and live event production. The 12G-SDI, Ethernet, and SFP+ connections support longer cable runs without signal degradation, providing reliable performance in demanding environments.

Genlock Functionality

In multi-camera productions, genlock ensures seamless switching and compositing of video sources. The Explore SE features genlock for superior synchronisation, allowing it to function as the main camera and ensure precise video synchronisation with sub-cameras in broadcasting and live streaming setups, preventing tearing and inconsistencies during video production and editing.

Built-In ND Filters

The Explore camera features a built-in variable ND filter adjustable to 1.6, 6.3, 25, and 100%, with the option to attach custom ND filters for precise lighting control.

Native AI-Based Auto-Tracking

The Explore features AI-based auto-tracking that automatically follows subjects to enhance ease of use and capture the moments flawlessly.

FreeD Technology Integration

FreeD is a protocol that enables precise transmission of camera data directly from the camera to tracking system. The Explore seamlessly integrates FreeD technology, empowering users to explore dynamic shooting angles and perspectives, ideal for versatile real-world and virtual-world applications. Broad compatibility with industry-leading virtual set systems like Brainstorm, Vizrt, Zero Density, Aximmetry, Unreal Engine, and VSet3D ensures a smooth virtual workflow.

Robust Audio Capabilities

The Explore features 3.5mm line input and mini-XLR with phantom power, providing compatibility with various microphones and audio equipment.

Local Recording for Backup and Cloud Production

The Explore empowers you with in-camera recording via a microSD card slot that supports local recording, instant backup during network issues, quick access for event review, and readily available files for upload to your preferred cloud platform.

Seamless Camera Setup with SSDP

SSDP integration streamlines the process of finding your camera's IP address, especially with multi-camera streaming, eliminating the need for complicated searches or additional tools.

Dual Tally Lights

The camera features built-in dual tally lights on both the front and back of the camera. These lights work seamlessly with NDI, VISCA serial, and VISCA-over-IP protocols. This allows on-screen talent and crew can identify the currently live camera and the one lined up for the next transition, ensuring clear communication.

Cropping

The camera allows you to capture a 4K60 scene while simultaneously generating a separate, zoomed-in/cropped 1080 or 720p video feed. This feature is ideal for situations where you need both a wide shot and a close-up, maximising the use of a single camera.
