Optimised video, optimised sensitivity, optimised speed, the Sony a7S III raises the bar for what a full-frame mirrorless camera is capable of. A revised 12.1MP Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor and updated BIONZ XR image processor offer faster performance, improved noise reduction, and a wider dynamic range, along with UHD 4K 120p video recording and internal 10-bit 4:2:2 sampling.

Advanced Sensor and Professional Video Performance

The Sony Alpha a7S III combines a newly developed 12.1MP full-frame Exmor RS back-illuminated CMOS sensor with the powerful BIONZ XR processor to deliver exceptional low-light performance, high sensitivity, and fast overall operation. With an ISO range of 80-102400, expandable to 40-409600, the camera produces clean, detailed imagery in challenging lighting conditions while offering up to 14 stops of dynamic range for stills and 15 stops for video. UHD 4K recording is available at up to 120p using full pixel readout without binning, with internal 10-bit 4:2:2 recording and 16-bit RAW output available via HDMI for maximum post-production flexibility. Advanced recording formats, including XAVC HS and XAVC S-I, provide efficient workflow options, while S-Cinetone and S-Log profiles offer extensive colour grading control and cinematic image quality.

Intelligent Autofocus and Powerful Stabilisation

A Fast Hybrid AF system with 759 phase-detection points and 425 contrast-detection areas covers approximately 92% of the image area, delivering quick and accurate focusing in a wide variety of conditions. Real-time Tracking and Real-time Eye AF for humans and animals help maintain sharp focus on moving subjects, while adjustable AF transition speed and subject shift sensitivity provide greater creative control for video production. The camera also features a highly effective 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilisation system that provides up to 5.5 stops of compensation, reducing the effects of camera shake when shooting handheld. For video creators, Active IS mode adds further stabilisation for smoother footage straight from the camera.

Professional Design and Extensive Connectivity

Designed for demanding professional workflows, the a7S III features a high-resolution 9.44-million-dot OLED Tru-Finder electronic viewfinder and a fully articulating 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD that supports flexible shooting angles and intuitive menu navigation. Dual card slots accept both CFexpress Type A and UHS-II SD memory cards for fast, reliable recording, while the durable magnesium alloy body incorporates extensive weather sealing for dependable operation in challenging environments. Connectivity options include a full-size HDMI port, USB Type-C, microphone and headphone sockets, and a Multi Interface Shoe for advanced digital audio accessories. Built-in Wi-Fi with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz support enables wireless control and image transfer, while optional wired LAN connectivity provides a reliable solution for remote shooting and FTP workflows.

Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens

The Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens is an all-around powerhouse, designed with professionals in mind. With its 24-105mm focal length and a wide f/4 aperture, it's great for landscapes, portraits and everything in between.

Additionally, the lens boasts Optical Steady Shot image stabilisation (OSS) which allows you to capture sharp images even in low light situations. The ED glass elements provide excellent contrast and clarity while reducing chromatic aberration giving you an overall improved image quality. This versatile lens also features a dust and moisture resistant design for worry free shooting in harsh conditions. All in all, if you need one lens that can do it all, the Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens is the perfect choice. Its robust construction, versatility and excellent image quality make it a great addition to any photographer's toolkit.

Versatile Zoom Range and Premium Optics

Covering an exceptionally useful wide-angle to short-telephoto range, the 24-105mm f/4 lens is designed for full-frame E-mount cameras and can also be used on APS-C models, where it provides an equivalent focal length range of 36-157.5mm. The constant f/4 maximum aperture delivers consistent exposure throughout the zoom range while offering greater control over depth of field. An advanced optical design incorporating four aspherical elements, including two Advanced Aspherical elements, minimises spherical aberrations and distortion for improved sharpness and clarity. Three extra-low dispersion elements further reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing, ensuring excellent colour accuracy and image quality across the frame.

Reliable Performance and Image Stabilisation

A Nano AR Coating suppresses flare, ghosting, and unwanted reflections to maintain strong contrast and accurate colour reproduction when shooting in challenging lighting conditions. Built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation helps reduce the effects of camera shake during handheld shooting, particularly at slower shutter speeds. When paired with compatible Sony cameras featuring in-body image stabilisation, the system works together to provide even greater stability for both stills and video capture.

Professional Handling and Durable Construction

A Direct Drive Super Sonic Wave autofocus motor and internal focusing system deliver fast, quiet, and precise autofocus performance while also providing smooth and responsive manual focus control. The lens includes a focus hold button and AF/MF switch for quick access to essential settings during shooting. Designed for dependable use in demanding environments, the lens features dust and moisture resistance along with rubberised control rings for improved handling in colder conditions. A fluorine coating on the front element helps repel dust, moisture, and fingerprints, while the rounded nine-blade diaphragm produces smooth, attractive bokeh for creative selective-focus photography.
