SkyWatcher Extension Tub Assembly for HEQ5-R Pro

A long optical tube on an equatorial mount runs out of room before it runs out of sky swing towards the zenith or the meridian and the tube fouls a tripod leg. The SWA-TRIEXTHEQ5R solves it by raising the whole mount head 220mm, buying back the clearance to track a target all the way through.

The assembly fits directly between the tripod and the HEQ5-R Pro head, with an M12 male thread at the top and an M12 female thread at the base. Machined alloy construction keeps the added 3 kg rigid, so the extra height does not introduce flexure or damp out more slowly than the mount itself. Also useful for observers who prefer to work standing, and for anyone imaging with a long refractor or Newtonian where the camera train adds further length at the back of the tube.
