Overview

PolarPro Summit Landscape Filter Holder Kit

This PolarPro Summit Landscape Filter Holder Kit is designed to allow for the convenient use of up to two neutral density filters along with a circular polarizer filter on lenses with 77 or 82mm front filter threads. Included is a PolarPro Summit Core Filter Holder, a PolarPro Summit Neutral Density 1.8 Filter, a PolarPro Summit Soft-Edge Graduated Neutral Density 0.9 Filter and a PolarPro Summit Circular Polarizer Filter. The two neutral density filters are each encased within a durable and lightweight filter frame. By encasing the sides of a filter, the filter frames help to eliminate or limit stray light, which could have unwanted effects on exposure, from coming in between a filter placed within the filter holder, as well as the filter holder and the lens behind it. Additionally, the filter frames reinforce the rigidity of the neutral density filters while preventing their sides from having to come into direct contact with the filter holder's slots. This protects those side surfaces and promotes sharp results by ensuring that the filter remains flat.

The PolarPro Summit Core Filter Holder includes a dedicated inner slot for PolarPro Summit neutral density filters that feature quick-access side handles. The combination of that slot and the side handle allows a PolarPro Summit neutral density filter within a PolarPro Summit Core Filter Holder to be quickly switched with a different PolarPro Summit neutral density filter needed for other subjects or changing lighting conditions. An outer slot on the PolarPro Summit Core Filter Holder can accommodate a PolarPro Summit graduated neutral density filter that also includes a side handle. The filter holder also features locking knobs that are each dedicated to one of those slots, allowing a PolarPro filter within a PolarPro Summit Core Filter Holder's corresponding slot to be secured, while an installed PolarPro Summit graduated neutral density filter can be adjusted upward or downward relative to the subject.

Use of the filter holder can be easily accomplished by first screwing one of two included adapter rings onto a lens with 77 or 82mm front filter threads. After being fitted onto the adapter ring, the filter holder's main locking knob helps to provide a reliable, yet adjustable connection that allows the holder to be rotated 360°, further benefiting the use of graduated neutral density and other filters that are enhanced by varied positioning. Additionally, adapter rings are separately available for lenses with 67, 72, or 95mm front filter threads.

The PolarPro Summit Core Filter Holder also accommodates an included drop-in circular polarizer filter. An external dial on each side of the filter holder integrates with the polarizer's filter ring, allowing for the independent rotation of the circular polarizer filter to adjust the intensity of its effect.

Utilizing aluminium alloy components, the PolarPro Summit Core Filter Holder is durable while remaining lightweight. A snap-on filter holder hood is included to further block unwanted stray light, as is a padded case that can fit the entire PolarPro Summit Landscape Filter Holder Kit during storage and transport.

PolarPro Summit Core Filter Holder

Dedicated slots for a PolarPro Summit neutral density filter and a PolarPro Summit graduated neutral density filter

The main locking knob helps to provide a reliable, yet adjustable connection to an adapter ring that allows the holder to be rotated 360°

Dedicated locking knobs for an installed neutral density filter and graduated neutral density filter

Accommodates a drop-in PolarPro Summit Circular Polarizer Filter and integrates with the polarizer's filter ring with external dials, allowing for the independent rotation of the circular polarizer filter to adjust the intensity of its effect

Snap-on filter holder hood is to further block unwanted stray light

Separately available for lenses with 67, 72, or 95mm front filter threads

PolarPro Summit Neutral Density 1.8 Filter (6-Stop)

1.8 neutral density filter darkens the image by 6 stops, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required

Filter does not affect the colouration of the image and is ideal for use with other filters

Constructed from quartz glass for enhanced durability

Multi-coated to prevent internal ghosting and reflections while promoting clarity as well as colour fidelity

Coatings also help prevent scratches and result in an improved beading effect when in contact with water or oil for greater cleaning efficiency

Encased within durable and lightweight aluminium alloy filter frame for use within a PolarPro Summit Core Filter Holder, which helps to eliminate or limit stray light, reinforce filter rigidity, and protect the filter's edges

PolarPro Summit Soft-Edge Graduated Neutral Density 0.9 Filter (3-Stop)

Darkens bright areas of an image, such as skies, while leaving the remainder of the frame unaffected

Provides up to a 3-stop reduction of light in selective areas

Soft-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas

Useful for images where the transition between sky and foreground is indeterminate, such as images featuring mist, fog, or the tops of trees

Filter does not affect the overall colouration of the image

Constructed from quartz glass for enhanced durability

Multi-coated to prevent internal ghosting and reflections while promoting clarity as well as colour fidelity

Coatings also help prevent scratches and result in an improved beading effect when in contact with water or oil for greater cleaning efficiency

PolarPro Summit Circular Polarizer Filter

Helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface

Polarizing filters arrange and filter directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of the light

Clears up haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated, vivid colours

Strongest effect when used at a 90° angle from the sun

Circular polarizers are ideal for use with digital cameras and autofocus lenses where a linear polarizer will often disrupt auto exposure and focus features

Reduces exposure by 1.3 stops

Constructed from quartz glass for enhanced durability

Multi-coated to prevent internal ghosting and reflections while promoting clarity as well as colour fidelity

Compatible with a PolarPro Summit Core Filter Holder and can be independently rotated while in use to adjust the intensity of the polarization effect
