Product Overview

The NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder Adapter Ring is designed to enable the use of a NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder System on a Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G lens. The use of the S6 filter holder is easily accomplished by first sliding the adapter ring over the integrated hood of a lens and tightening. The adapter ring accommodates a NiSi S6 Circular Filter for NiSi S6 including a Circular Polarizer and UV filter. When combined with the adapter ring, a compatible polarizer filter can be rotated to adjust its effect. Both the external dials on the adapter ring allow for the independent rotation of the circular polarizer. A NiSi S5 150mm Filter Holder can then be placed over the adapter ring. After being fitted onto the adapter ring, the filter holder's pull-and-release locking pin helps to provide a reliable, yet adjustable connection that allows the filter holder to be rotated 360°, permitting the use of graduated neutral density and other filters that are enhanced by varied positioning. For durability, this adapter ring features an aluminium alloy construction. The adapter allows very quick installation and removal without removing the lens from the camera. Already own the NiSi S6 Holder Kit? Simply add this adaptor to make it compatible with the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G lens.

FAQs

How does the NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder Adapter Ring enhance my photography?

The NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder Adapter Ring allows photographers to use a variety of 150mm filters, enhancing creativity and control over exposure and colour. By enabling the use of circular polarizers and graduated neutral density filters, you can manage reflections, reduce glare, and balance exposure across your images. This adaptability is particularly beneficial for landscape and architectural photography, helping to achieve the desired effects in challenging lighting conditions.

Is the NiSi S6 Adapter Ring compatible with other lens brands or models?

The NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder Adapter Ring is specifically designed for the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG HSM Art lens for Canon EF and Nikon F mounts. While it fits these models perfectly, it is not compatible with other lens brands or models without a specific adapter. Always check for compatibility with your lens before purchasing to ensure optimal performance.

What types of filters can I use with this adapter ring?

The adapter ring allows the use of NiSi S6 Circular Filters, including circular polarizers and UV filters. Additionally, it is designed to work with the NiSi S6 Filter Holder, facilitating the use of 150x150mm or 150x170mm filters. This setup enables you to explore various filter effects, such as reducing reflections or enhancing colours in your images.

How does the independent rotation feature of the polarizer work?

The NiSi S6 Adapter Ring includes dials that enable independent rotation of the circular polarizer. This feature allows you to adjust the polariser's effect without disturbing the composition of your shot. You can easily fine-tune the filter's position to maximise its impact on reflections and contrast, giving you greater control over the final image.

Can I easily install and remove the adapter ring while shooting?

Yes, the NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder Adapter Ring is designed for quick installation and removal. You can slide the adapter ring over the integrated hood of your Sigma 14-24mm lens and secure it without needing to detach the lens from your camera. This feature is particularly advantageous during shoots where time is of the essence, allowing you to switch filters efficiently.

What materials is the adapter ring made from, and how does this affect durability?

The adapter ring is constructed from high-quality aluminium alloy, which provides excellent durability while keeping the weight manageable. This robust construction ensures that the adapter can withstand the rigours of outdoor shooting conditions, making it a reliable choice for professional photographers who require equipment that can endure frequent use.

What should I consider if I already own the NiSi S5 system?

If you already own the NiSi S5 system, it is important to note that this adapter ring is only compatible with the S6 Holder and S6 Circular Filters. If you want to use S5 circular filters, you will need to use them with the S5 holder instead. Ensure you have the correct system to avoid compatibility issues and to make the most of your filters.
