Product Overview

The NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder Adapter Ring is designed to enable the use of a NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder System on a Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G lens. The use of the S6 filter holder is easily accomplished by first sliding the adapter ring over the integrated hood of a lens and tightening. The adapter ring accommodates a NiSi S6 Circular Filter for NiSi S6 including a Circular Polarizer and UV filter. When combined with the adapter ring, a compatible polarizer filter can be rotated to adjust its effect. Both the external dials on the adapter ring allow for the independent rotation of the circular polarizer. A NiSi S5 150mm Filter Holder can then be placed over the adapter ring. After being fitted onto the adapter ring, the filter holder's pull-and-release locking pin helps to provide a reliable, yet adjustable connection that allows the filter holder to be rotated 360°, permitting the use of graduated neutral density and other filters that are enhanced by varied positioning. For durability, this adapter ring features an aluminium alloy construction. The adapter allows very quick installation and removal without removing the lens from the camera. Already own the NiSi S6 Holder Kit? Simply add this adaptor to make it compatible with the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G lens.

FAQs

What makes the NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder Adapter Ring suitable for the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art lens?

The NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder Adapter Ring is specifically designed to fit the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art lens, ensuring a secure and stable connection. Its design accommodates the lens's integrated hood, allowing for easy installation without obstructing the lens's performance. This tailored fit is crucial for preventing vignetting, especially at wide angles, ensuring that your images maintain clarity and quality across the frame.

How do I attach the NiSi S6 Filter Holder to the adapter ring?

Attaching the NiSi S6 Filter Holder to the adapter ring is straightforward. After securing the adapter ring onto the lens, simply align the filter holder with the adapter. The holder features a pull-and-release locking pin that provides a reliable connection. Once attached, you can rotate the filter holder 360 degrees to position your filters as needed, enhancing your creative options in various lighting conditions.

What types of filters can be used with this adapter ring?

The NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder Adapter Ring is compatible with NiSi S6 Circular Filters, including circular polarizers and UV filters. When paired with the S6 Holder, you can also use 150x150mm or 150x170mm graduated neutral density filters and other effects. This versatility allows photographers to experiment with a variety of filters to achieve their desired visual effects.

Is it possible to use this adapter ring with other NiSi filter systems?

This adapter ring is specifically designed for the NiSi S6 system, which means it should be used with S6 circular filters and the S6 Holder. If you have the earlier NiSi S5 system, you will need to use S5 circular filters with the S5 holder. The two systems are not interchangeable, so it's important to ensure compatibility for optimal performance.

Can I install and remove the adapter ring without taking off my camera from the tripod?

Yes, one of the key features of the NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder Adapter Ring is its quick installation and removal process. You can easily slide the adapter ring over the lens hood and tighten it without needing to detach the camera from your tripod. This convenience is especially beneficial for landscape photographers who may need to change filters rapidly in varying lighting conditions.

What materials are used in the construction of the adapter ring, and how does this affect its durability?

The NiSi S6 150mm Filter Holder Adapter Ring is constructed from high-quality aluminium alloy. This material is lightweight yet exceptionally durable, making it ideal for professional use. The robust construction ensures that the adapter can withstand the rigours of outdoor photography while maintaining precise alignment and connection with your filters and lens.
