Product Overview

The NiSi Cinema 4x5.65" Allure Streak CLEAR (2mm) is a special effects filter designed to render a single light ray from a point light source. This filter features a single series of etched lines spaced 2mm apart from each other, which run across the filter surface. The filter creates the effect of elongated streaks horizontally from the light source usually seen when using an Anamorphic type of lens. When the filter is rotated, the orientation of the light ray can be adjusted to suit your composition or desired effect. The filter is constructed from clear optical-grade glass H-K9L for maintained image clarity.

FAQs

How does the NiSi Cinema Allure Streak filter affect the overall image quality?

The NiSi Cinema Allure Streak filter is constructed from clear optical-grade glass H-K9L, which ensures that your images retain their original clarity and sharpness. The filter is designed to create streak effects without introducing any noticeable distortions, thus maintaining the overall colour accuracy and contrast of your images.

What types of scenes or subjects work best with the Allure Streak filter?

The Allure Streak filter is particularly effective for scenes featuring point light sources, such as streetlights, car headlights, or reflections from metallic surfaces. It enhances strong highlights and adds a dramatic visual flair to your compositions, making it ideal for cinematic shots and creative photography.

Can I use the Allure Streak filter with any lens?

While the Allure Streak filter can be mounted on any compatible 4 x 5.65 inch filter holder, it is recommended to use it with focal lengths of 35mm and longer. This ensures that the streak effects are rendered accurately and free from lens deformation, providing the best visual results.

How do I adjust the orientation of the light streak created by the filter?

The Allure Streak filter can be easily rotated within your filter holder. By rotating the filter, you can change the orientation of the light streak to suit your composition. This flexibility allows you to experiment with different angles and effects, enabling greater creative control over your images.

Is the effect created by the Allure Streak filter suitable for both photography and videography?

Yes, the Allure Streak filter is designed for both photography and videography. Its ability to render elongated streaks from point light sources makes it a valuable tool for filmmakers looking to enhance their visual storytelling, as well as for photographers aiming to create striking images with unique lighting effects.

What maintenance is required for the NiSi Allure Streak filter?

To maintain the quality of the NiSi Allure Streak filter, it is important to handle it with care and keep it clean. Use a soft, lint-free cloth and a lens cleaning solution to remove any dirt or fingerprints. Avoid using abrasive materials that could scratch the glass. Store it in its protective case when not in use to prevent damage.

Can I stack the Allure Streak filter with other filters?

While it is technically possible to stack the Allure Streak filter with other filters, it is advisable to use it alone or with minimal additional filters. Stacking can introduce unwanted vignetting or reduce image quality, so ensure that any additional filters are of high optical quality to maintain the best results.
