Product Overview

The NiSi Cinema 4x5.65" Allure Streak BLUE (2mm) is a special effects filter designed to render a single light ray from a point light source. This filter features a single series of etched lines spaced 2mm apart from each other, which run across the filter surface. The filter creates the effect of elongated blue streaks horizontally from the light source usually seen when using an Anamorphic type of lens. When the filter is rotated, the orientation of the light ray can be adjusted to suit your composition or desired effect. The filter is constructed from clear optical-grade glass H-K9L for maintained image clarity.

FAQs

What types of scenes or subjects work best with the NiSi Cinema Allure Streak BLUE filter?

The NiSi Cinema Allure Streak BLUE filter is particularly effective in scenes with point light sources, such as streetlights, car headlights, or stage lighting. It's ideal for capturing strong highlights and reflective materials, making it perfect for night photography or cinematic projects where you want to add a dramatic effect. Subjects with metallic surfaces can also benefit from the enhanced light streaks created by this filter.

How does the rotation feature of the filter enhance my creative control?

The ability to rotate the NiSi Cinema Allure Streak BLUE filter allows you to adjust the orientation of the light streaks in your composition. This means you can direct the light rays to flow in the direction that best suits your artistic vision, whether that be horizontally or at an angle. This flexibility provides you with greater control over the mood and style of your shots, allowing for more creative expression.

Can I use this filter with various focal lengths, and are there recommendations for optimal performance?

While the NiSi Cinema Allure Streak BLUE filter can be used with various focal lengths, it is recommended to use lenses with focal lengths of 35mm and longer. This ensures that the streaks appear straight and are free from lens deformation, allowing for the best visual effect. Using shorter focal lengths may result in a less pronounced streak effect and could distort the intended look.

Is the optical quality of the filter suitable for professional use?

Yes, the NiSi Cinema Allure Streak BLUE filter is constructed from clear optical-grade glass H-K9L, ensuring high image clarity and minimal impact on overall colour and contrast. This makes it a suitable choice for professional photography and videography, where maintaining the integrity of the image is crucial. The optical glass construction allows for sharp and clear images without introducing unwanted artefacts.

How do I care for and maintain the NiSi Cinema Allure Streak BLUE filter?

To ensure the longevity and performance of your NiSi Cinema Allure Streak BLUE filter, it is important to handle it with care. Use a microfiber cloth for regular cleaning and avoid using any abrasive materials that could scratch the surface. When not in use, store the filter in a protective case to prevent dust and damage. Additionally, avoid exposing the filter to extreme temperatures or moisture to maintain its optical quality.

What creative effects can I achieve with the NiSi Cinema Allure Streak BLUE filter in my projects?

With the NiSi Cinema Allure Streak BLUE filter, you can create stunning visual effects that enhance the cinematic quality of your projects. The elongated blue streaks can evoke a sense of drama and depth, making them perfect for music videos, fashion shoots, or narrative films. You can also experiment with different lighting conditions and compositions to achieve unique results, transforming ordinary scenes into extraordinary visuals.
