Bright Tangerine Universal BUD Plate

Bright Tangerine Universal BUD Plate

Maximum Versatility for Your Camera

The Universal BUD Plate provides unparalleled versatility, allowing your camera to transition seamlessly between shoulder rig, baseplate, gimbal, and handheld configurations.

This flexibility is achieved through compatibility with the 88mm BUD standard and various BUD accessories. These include the KASBAH Atman shoulder rig, LeftField 3 BUD baseplate, stabiliser adapter mounts, gimbal dovetails, and ARRI's own BUD offerings.

Regardless of your configuration, the BUD Plate guarantees seamless integration and adaptability for all your setups.

Universal for Any Camera

Designed for universal compatibility, the plate features a flat surface that only adds 20mm to your setup, ensuring minimal bulk while accommodating any camera. This thoughtful design element maximises functionality without compromising on form or convenience.

When dismounted, the wide plate lies flat and remains stable, ensuring it can be safely placed down between takes without tipping over.

Central Channel with Captive Screws

The central channel of the plate includes two 3/8" and 1/4" captive screws, making it compatible with any mounting point configuration-whether it's 2x 3/8", or a combination of 1x 3/8" and 1x 1/4". This feature ensures secure attachment to any camera, providing a robust foundation for various shooting needs.

Easily Accessible Lock

No more struggling with hard-to-reach locks; the easily accessible low-profile lever lock makes it simple. This tactile and secure clamp ensures that adjustments can be made swiftly and reliably, enhancing the overall user experience by reducing downtime during shoots.

Safety Button for Secure Operation

To prevent accidental releases when balancing the camera, the plate is equipped with a safety button. This critical feature enhances operational safety, giving users peace of mind during dynamic shooting scenarios.

Accessory Mounting with MAP M4

The plate includes MAP M4 points on both sides of the plate, making it compatible with accessories, such as the B4004.1047 19mm Rod Mount.

Additionally, it provides provisions for future side plates and other accessories, ensuring long-term adaptability and expansion.

Compact Alternative to ARRI BUD-3

For those using the ARRI Alexa Mini LF, the Universal BUD Plate offers a compact alternative to the ARRI BUD-3 which doesn't require the full cage to be used. The rear of the BUD-3 is equipped with mounting points for the rear bracket and battery mounts, which add weight to the back of the camera.

Lightweight & Strong

Engineered to minimise flex, the Universal BUD Plate is CNC machined and meticulously hollowed out, preserving its structural integrity. Its lightweight design ensures durability and ease of handling, weighing only XX grams. This makes it an ideal choice for long shooting sessions where every gram matters.

15mm LWS Standard Heights

As a universal accessory, the optical height will vary depending on the camera used.

When paired with the KASBAH Atman Shoulder Rigs, the front rod mount can be adjusted to ensure the rods are positioned at the correct height.

The LeftField 3 BUD 15mm LWS Baseplate offsets the camera heights by the following values:

Compatibility

The Universal BUD Plate is compatible with a wide range of accessories including:

KASBAH Atman VCT-14 Shoulder Rigs

B4004.1039 - LeftField 3 ARRI BUD Compatible 15mm LWS Baseplate

BUD Universal Stabiliser Adapter Mounts

ARRI CBP-5 & CBP-6

ARRI BPA-6

ARRI CSP-2

ARRI SAM Plates

Installation

To install the Universal BUD Plate, you will need a flathead screwdriver.

First, check the bottom of your camera for the screw sizing and positioning. Then, match the screws with the BUD plate. Thread the 3/8" screws into the channel, while the 1/4" screws can be inserted along the channel and held in place by the rubber ring.

Next, attach the plate to your camera by tightening the mounting screws with the flathead screwdriver.

You can now slide the BUD plate onto your accessory from the front or rear and lock it in place using the orange lever.

To release the camera, unlock the lever, slide the camera to the end of the dovetail, and press the safety button to release it from the dovetail.
