Blackmagic Ultimatte 12 8K Keyer/Advanced Compositing Processor

Upgrade your real-time compositing for keying live action video with the Ultimatte 12 8K Keyer/Advanced Compositing Processor from Blackmagic Design. This latest version of the Ultimatte 12 adds 12G-SDI connectivity to advanced algorithms, improved spill suppression, colour science and separation, and excellent colour fidelity to help create truly photorealistic composites.

The Ultimatte 12 works in 8K, UHD, and HD with sub-pixel processing for an improved image. Designed for news, sports, and other types of production, this versatile unit offers realistic augmented reality layers and one-touch auto-keying. This processor requires the downloadable Ultimatte Software for macOS and Windows, and it can also be controlled via the separately available Ultimatte Smart Remote 4. The 2 RU unit features dual redundant power, and it features a 10GB Ethernet port.

Advanced Real-Time Compositing

Uses new algorithms and colour science, improved edge handling, colour separation, colour fidelity, and spill suppression to create photorealistic composites in 8K, UHD 4K and HD, all in real time. Designed for news, sports, narrative film and television, and entertainment productions using fixed cameras, static backgrounds, or virtual set systems. The ability to layer augmented reality objects enables talent to pre-visualise virtual sets when using a green screen.

Multicamera Use

New technology enables the Ultimatte 12 to add accurate keying parametres to multiple cameras, accounting for slight variations between the camera positions

Realistic Augmented Reality Layer

A new "realistic" layer compositing mode enables you to add translucent or tinted objects on top of the foreground.

One-Touch Keying and Advanced Image Processing

One-touch keying dramatically lessens the time it takes to pull a key, using the auto key to set over 100 parametres once your set is well lit and white balanced. Advanced image processing algorithms and an immense colour space are used to generate internal mattes, so different parts of the image can be processed separately based on the colours in each area. This processing produces fine detail on hair and smooths colour and object transitions with 8K, UHD 4K, and HD video.

Highest Colour Fidelity

Refined flare, edge, and transition processing enables you to remove the background without affecting the colours you want to retain, faithfully reproducing colours that are impossible on other keyers, such as a bright yellow dress in front of a green screen.

Shadows and Transparencies

Improved flare algorithms can remove green tinting and spill from almost anything, creating true, realistic looking virtual environments, even when using shadows or transparent objects with reflections.

High-Quality Interfaces

High-quality connections include an Ethernet port, a GPI tally trigger, 12G-SDI BNC ports that support up to 8K video, and Program video outputs.
