Rated to 40 kg at minimum extension and 10 kg at full reach, it’s built from chrome-plated steel to take real production abuse.

Use it when you need a clean top-down look, to float a softbox over talent, or to park a Fresnel where a stand footprint can’t go. Mount it in a proper combo/wind-up, keep the counterweight opposite the load, sandbag the base, and keep the tilt lock snug—especially outdoors (imperial specs are noted above because cinema land still talks in feet/pounds).

Key specs

• Length: 1.63–3.00 m (64.2–118.1”)

• Load: 40 kg (88 lb) @ min. extension; 10 kg (22 lb) @ max extension

• Mounts: 28 mm (1-1/8”) stud to stand; 28 mm receiver + 16 mm (5/8”) pin at the boom end

• Counterweight: 6.7 kg (≈15 lb) included; chrome-plated steel construction.

Recommended accessories (pair with the right stand for the load)

• Wind-Up / Super Wind-Up Stands: B6039CS, B6029X, B6040X (for heavy heads and easy height trims).

• Strato-Safe Crank Stands: B7043CS-1, B7047CS-1 (heavy-duty, geared lifting with junior receivers).

• Steel Combo Stand: A5036CS (junior receiver + baby pin combo).

• Junior/Baby Adapters & Grips: E200 (junior ↔︎ baby adapter), G200-1 (boom clamp/spigot), plus sandbags.

Important notes about using overhead booms:

Choose the stand for the extended load, not the minimum. Keep the boom as level as practical, add an extra sandbag to the stand’s highest leg, and never boom a sail-like modifier outside without a grip watching it. If you need finer reach control, add a second counterweight rather than over-cranking the tilt.
