Featuring all the capabilities of a traditional astrophotography rig but without the complexity and bulk, the Seestar S30 Pro Smart Telescope from ZWO Astro lets even novice users capture images of the Sun, moon, planets, and deep-sky objects including nebulae and galaxies. Simply connect your phone or tablet and select what you want to see from among more than 80,000 celestial objects in the Seestar app. The Seestar S30 Pro turns to, tracks, and captures your target. The telescope employs a four-element apochromatic lens system and is equipped with light-pollution and solar filters. Mosaic stitching, a constellation finder, plus Milky Way and star-trail modes add to the fun of discovery. It measures just 8" long and weighs under four pounds, so you can take it practically anywhere with a good view of the night sky.

Wide-Angle & Telephoto Sensors

The telescope features dual Sony sensor technology, including a Sony IMX586 wide-angle sensor with 8.3MP resolution, a 63° angle of view and 30mm f/5.3 optics, along with a Sony IMX585 telephoto sensor offering 8.3MP resolution, a 4.6° angle of view and 3.4mm f/1.75 optics. It allows real-time switching between wide-angle and close-up views, with tap-to-capture functionality for detailed images from any angle.

Easier Astrophotography

Designed for simplified celestial imaging, the telescope enables one-touch capture of the Sun, Moon, planets, galaxies, nebulae and star clusters with automatic capture and tracking. Live-stacking enhances image colour and detail, while the four-element apochromatic lens system with an extra-low dispersion component helps minimise chromatic aberration. A dark field filter reduces noise from long exposures, the UV/IR cut filter blocks infrared interference, and the astronomical light pollution filter reduces the effects of moonlight and urban lighting for clearer deep-sky captures.

Use and Handling

The telescope can be controlled through a smartphone or tablet app, allowing users to find and track celestial objects while viewing captured imagery. An external enhanced dual-band antenna supports 2.4G and 5G frequencies, providing a stable connection beyond 60 feet. It is powered by a 6000mAh USB-C rechargeable battery with up to 6 hours of runtime and includes a tabletop tripod with a 3/8" mounting screw.
