The camera features a new battery system, improved ergonomics, a 4-axis tilt screen, self-illuminated buttons and detailed displays, creating a refined photography experience, while the lens complements it with its wide-angle versatility and f/2.8 performance.

Rapid Capture

The Alpha 7R VI delivers up to 30 fps continuous shooting at full-resolution RAW, supported by significantly faster sensor readout. Its enhanced readout performance also enables up to 60 AF/AE calculations per second, improving autofocus tracking and subject acquisition. An upgraded 5-axis in-body image stabilisation system provides up to 8.5-stop stabilisation, using an updated algorithm and high-precision gyro sensor for detailed image correction.

Stills and Video Performance

Built for high-resolution stills while offering strong video capabilities, the Alpha 7R VI supports 4K 60p and 8K 30p recording without sensor crop, as well as 120p recording from a Super 35 area. Its Exmor RS sensor and image processing system provide up to 16 stops of dynamic range during mechanical shutter capture, with extended RAW processing options for enhanced noise reduction, detail, and dynamic range. A 600-shot CIPA-rated battery life, up to 135 minutes of continuous video recording, and up to 120 minutes of 8K 30p recording support extended shooting. A 4-axis tilt screen, self-illuminated buttons, and updated grip design further improve usability in a range of shooting conditions.

G Master Image Quality

Designed to rival prime lenses, this zoom combines a bright constant f/2.8 aperture with advanced optics for high resolution, clarity and smooth bokeh. One Super ED, two ED and five aspherical elements, including three XA elements, help suppress chromatic aberrations, colour fringing, spherical aberrations and distortion. The floating focus mechanism and four XD linear motors deliver faster, quieter and more precise autofocus, while maintaining image quality throughout the focusing range. With a minimum focusing distance of 8.6" and maximum magnification of 0.32x across the zoom range, it is well suited to both detailed close-up work and fast-moving subjects.

Professional Control and Compact Design

Built with both photographers and videographers in mind, the lens minimises focus breathing, focus shift and axial shift during zooming for greater compositional consistency. Linear Response MF provides intuitive manual focus control, while the de-clickable aperture ring allows smooth and silent iris adjustments. Two programmable focus hold buttons and a focus mode switch provide convenient control, while the internal focusing design maintains a consistent centre of gravity. Approximately 20% lighter and 10% smaller than its predecessor, the lens combines portability with professional durability, featuring a dust- and moisture-resistant construction, rubber sealing and a fluorine-coated front element for easier cleaning.
