SkyWatcher Synhub Connectivity Hub

SynHub is a compact, multi-connection hub that gives your Sky-Watcher SynScan mount USB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity in a single small unit. It's designed to make it quick and simple to link your mount to a phone, tablet or computer using whichever connection method suits your setup, with no separate power supply needed.

USB Connection

Using the USB Type-C port on SynHub, it can be connected to Windows, Android, Linux and Mac hosts. On these hosts, SynHub is recognised as a USB CDC serial communication device, making it compatible with a wide range of telescope control and planetarium software.

Wi-Fi Connection

Users can connect Windows, Android, Linux, Mac and iOS devices to SynHub's own Wi-Fi hotspot. The SynScan Pro app can also configure SynHub to join another Wi-Fi network, allowing other host devices already on that network to access SynHub.

Bluetooth Connection

Windows, Android, Linux, Mac and iOS devices can connect to SynHub via Bluetooth, giving another simple, cable-free way to link your control device to the mount.

GPS

SynHub has a built-in GPS module, which can provide accurate location and time information to mounts running SynScan firmware version 3.39 or above - removing the need to manually enter site details before an observing session.

Magnetic Base

SynHub has a built-in strong magnetic base, allowing it to be attached directly to ferromagnetic metal surfaces on your mount or setup. For non-magnetic surfaces, an adhesive-backed iron sheet is included so SynHub can still be mounted securely. Users can periodically visit Skywatcher.com to download new firmware and application software to keep SynHub's firmware up to date.
