The Nisi Nano IR Neutral Density Filter is a 70x80mm rectangular glass plate filter designed for photographers who want greater control over the light entering their camera. It is used to decrease the brightness of a shot, while maintaining the original colour, making it perfect for long exposures and landscape photography.

Range of Density Options

The NiSi Nano IR ND Filter is available in four density options, offering light reduction of 3, 6, 10 and 15 stops for precise control over shutter speeds and exposure. These options allow photographers to create artistic motion blur, achieve smooth, flowing water effects and minimise the appearance of moving people in long-exposure photographs. The different densities provide flexibility for a wide range of lighting conditions and creative requirements.

Light Reduction for Greater Exposure Control

Designed to reduce the amount of light reaching the camera sensor without significantly affecting image colour, the filter darkens the entire frame uniformly. This allows photographers to use slower shutter speeds or wider apertures, even in bright conditions. Ideal for landscape photography, it also enables creative techniques such as motion blur and extremely shallow depth of field, giving photographers greater control over the final appearance of their images.

High-Quality Optical Glass

Constructed from high-quality optical glass, the NiSi Nano IR ND Filter delivers sharp, detailed images with minimal colour casts. The glass undergoes a precise annealing process, followed by double-sided optical grinding and polishing to achieve excellent surface flatness. This careful manufacturing process helps preserve image clarity, crispness and overall optical performance.

Infrared Protection and Advanced Coating

An infrared protection coating helps minimise unwanted red colour casts caused by infrared light, particularly when using very wide or narrow apertures. The filter also features an anti-glare Nano coating to reduce reflections, alongside a super multi-coating on both surfaces. These coatings help repel water and provide resistance to oil and scratches, keeping the filter cleaner and supporting consistent image quality in demanding shooting conditions.

Secure Fit and Filter Holder Compatibility

Rear-side gaskets ensure a secure fit within the filter holder slot, helping prevent unwanted light leakage and vignetting. The NiSi Nano IR ND Filter is compatible with the NiSi 70mm filter holder, which is sold separately. Designed for photographers seeking greater exposure control, it combines versatile light reduction, reliable optical performance and practical protection for creative landscape and long-exposure photography.
