Laowa 100mm f/2.8 Tilt-Shift 1X Macro - Hasseblad XCD

The Laowa 100mm f/2.8 Tilt-Shift 1:1 Macro for Hasseblad XCD is a pioneering lens that brings the precision of a technical camera to the Hasseblad XCD medium-format system. Providing a 79mm full-frame equivalence, it sits in the "sweet spot" for portraiture and product photography while offering the world-first combination of ±10° of tilt and ±8mm of shift on a medium-format macro prime. This allows XCD users to manipulate the focal plane and correct perspective distortion with a level of control usually reserved for large-format bellows systems.

Designed to resolve the extreme detail of 100MP+ sensors, this lens features an advanced optical path with 13 elements, including Extra-low Dispersion (ED) and Ultra-High Refraction glass. Its mechanical flexibility is tailored for the studio, featuring a dual-rotation system that allows the tilt and shift directions to be adjusted independently, ensuring you can align your focus plane perfectly regardless of your camera's orientation.

Medium Format Focal Plane Control

By utilising the Tilt function, you can align the plane of focus with an angled subject-like a high-end watch or a landscape receding into the distance. This allows you to keep the entire subject tack-sharp at f/2.8 on a XCD sensor, avoiding the diffraction that comes from stopping down to tiny apertures.

Professional Shift for Architecture

The ±8mm Shift is specifically calibrated for the XCD sensor's image circle. It allows you to keep the camera level to prevent converging vertical lines (keystoning) while physically shifting the lens to include the top of a building or the base of a tall product.

Life-Size Detail on a Large Sensor

Reaching 1:1 magnification on a medium-format sensor provides incredible resolution. At this magnification, you can capture microscopic textures with enough detail to produce massive gallery-sized prints without losing clarity.

Exquisite 15-Blade Bokeh

With 15 aperture blades, this lens renders out-of-focus highlights as soft, perfect circles. When used for portraiture or artistic macro, the transition between the sharp focal plane and the background is incredibly smooth and creamy.

Advanced Chromatic Correction

The use of two ED elements and an HR element ensures that high-contrast edges-typical in jewelry and commercial product shots-stay free of purple fringing. This optical precision is vital for maintaining the "clean" aesthetic expected in medium-format photography.

Studio-Ready Tripod Support

Because tilt and shift movements can shift the center of gravity, the lens includes a rotating lens support. This allows you to mount the lens itself to the tripod, ensuring the XCD body can be rotated between landscape and portrait orientations without disturbing your carefully dialed-in tilt-shift settings.
