8K30 360° Video

The X4 Air features ultrasharp 8K resolution, making reframed video on par with standard camera footage for easier matching edits. Since the footage is captured with high-quality H.265 compression, the 8K files are small enough to edit using the Insta360 app or Insta360 Studio.

6K/4K Capture and Me Mode

The X4 Air supports up to 8K30, 6K48, and 4K60 video for smooth shots at ultrahigh-resolution. The camera also features Me Mode, which records a 170° field of view flat video, perfect for POV video with an invisible selfie stick. Me Mode supports up to UHD 4K30 and 1080p120 slow-motion modes with external stitching. AdaptiveTone automatically balances brightness, colour, and contrast from each lens for crisp, natural - looking videos. Active HDR boosts colours in the highlights and shadows and captures high detail in low light. The X4 Air can process 29MP photos with 7680 x 3840 resolution in-camera, delivering high-quality, ready-to-share images that have low noise and high-quality colour.

2 Cameras in 1 with 4K60 Single-Lens Mode

The X4 Air camera doubles as a wide-angle action camera with InstaFrame mode, by filming with only one lens, and supports up to UHD 4K60 single-lens capture. You can even turn a 360° shot into a split-screen using the app. You don't even have to aim the camera to always get the shot. The X4 Air captures every angle, so you just hit record, capture the moment, and pick the best shots later with easy reframing tools in the Insta360 app. When the X4 Air is attached to a selfie stick, the stick disappears in your edit, enabling you to capture aerial angles and third-person perspectives that are possible to achieve without a second operator.

Mobile Insta360 App

Quick Edit offers multiple reframing methods, including physically moving your phone, swiping the screen, using the new virtual joystick, or long-pressing to activate the upgraded Deep Track 3.0 for smoother footage. AI Edit makes framing and editing simple for beginners, while Pro Mode provides a more hands-on experience with manual keyframes and advanced editing through the Pro tab. Shot Lab makes editing easier with a collection of stock effects, while Motion ND lets you achieve a cinematic ND filter effect without using physical filters. With App Background Downloading, you can download footage from the camera while the Insta360 app continues running quietly in the background, keeping your phone available for other tasks.

AI Gesture and Voice Control

You can now use hand gestures to start/stop recording or take a photo, which is perfect for group shots, noisy locations, mounting on a selfie stick, when wearing thick gloves, or simply not disturbing others in the area with sound, such as voice control. You can also use Twist to Shoot, which allows you to rotate the camera back and forth to start or stop recording or to capture a still photo. With Voice Control 2.0, you can give the camera a voice command to control it from a distance.

Desktop Insta360 Studio Software

Use the new and improved Insta360 Studio and take your 360° skills to the next level and stand out. It features keyframing, professional tools, H.265 encoding, 100 Mb/s bit rate, 4K output, and high frame rate for action footage that are all ideal for upload onto internet sites such as YouTube. A new Insta360 Reframe plug-in for Adobe Premiere is also available, which saves you time during your editing workflow. It directly imports .insv files to Premiere without stitching, improves image quality, and simplifies the process by not requiring you to leave the Premiere app to process your footage.

Replaceable Lens Guards

The X4 Air features replaceable lens guards, allowing you to transport the camera into the field without damaging the lenses. Optional, separately available Premium lens guards are made from clear, tempered glass that is scratch-resistant and crystal clear, and can be used while shooting. The bright touchscreen is made from durable Gorilla Glass, and it allows you to control the camera, select shooting modes, change settings, preview your images and footage, and more.

FlowState Stabilisation and Horizon Lock

From rocky roads to rolling waves, the X4 Air delivers smooth and steady footage across a variety of adventures. With 360° Horizon Lock, your footage stays level even when the camera is rotated completely.

Waterproof Design

The X4 Air is waterproof down to 49' without requiring a case, making it suitable for underwater adventures. For deeper dives, the optional Invisible Dive Case enables 360° underwater recording down to 197'.

Connectivity Options

The X4 Air features a USB-C 3.0 port for charging and transferring footage to a computer, while Wi-Fi enables wireless transmission to your smartphone app. For local recording, the camera supports microSD cards with a minimum UHS-I V30 rating and capacities up to 1TB.
