Designed to be compact yet versatile, the ML40Bi Bi-Colour Portable LED Light from Godox will fulfill your need for a small and lightweight LED with bright output and creative features. Featuring a 3.8 x 3.5 x 1.8" body with magnetic mount and NFC app connectivity, the ML40Bi expands the ML series by bringing interesting features to creators. Differentiating itself from the ML100Bi/R lights, this 40W version has a built-in battery, providing 42 minutes of runtime at 100% brightness for a wide range of scenarios, from indoor spaces to on-the-go shoots. The ML40Bi comes with a 10° lens reflector that increases its output and a convenient USB-C charging cable. In addition to a bi-colour punch, the ML40Bi also offers 11 lighting effects to choose from, for creating the exact mood you want.

Creative Bi-Colour Light

Even in its highly compact and portable form factor, the bare light has an illuminance of 1060 lux at 3.3' (5600K), which expands to an impressive 26,400 lux using the included 10° lens reflector. Another highlight is the fixture's high CRI/TLCI rating of 96 to ensure superior accuracy in the depiction of colours. For creative use, the ML40Bi provides 11 effects, including flash, lightning, cloudy, broken bulb, TV, candle, fire, fireworks, explosion, welding, and SOS to help you simulate realistic scenarios.

Easy Control

Lighting settings, such as variable 2800-6500K colour temperature and 0-100% dimming capability, can be adjusted on the fixture itself or wirelessly via Bluetooth at distances up to 98.4' using the Godox Light app. The intuitive design of the light also incorporates an NFC connection. Open the Godox Light app and tap "add NFC". After this, bring your smartphone closer to the fixture's NFC spot (on its top part), and the app will pair automatically. The app will also auto-check for firmware upgrades.

Internal Battery Power & Cooling

The light runs on its internal battery that provides up to 42 minutes of runtime at 100% brightness with a charging time of 2 hours and 30 minutes. Besides the convenience of built-in battery power, other beneficial features are the light's integrated fan and air vent that help keep the light running cool for safe and consistent use. Fan settings include mute (turns off the fan for silent operation), auto (balances noise reduction and heat dissipation for daily use), and medium/high (provides enhanced cooling for long full-power operation).

Optional Battery Grip

You can also pair it with the separately available BG02 battery grip or a power bank to keep the light running for longer shooting sessions.

Expanded Mounting Options

The ML40Bi has a proprietary front Godox mount. The unit also comes with a mount release button for convenience and a bottom 1/4"-20 hole for wide compatibility with separately available stands. One of its best features is a useful magnetic back for easy attachment to metal surfaces, which enables extra mounting flexibility. The ML40Bi is lightweight at just 0.42 kg (without reflector) and small enough to carry in your gear bag.
