Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM Lens

With a focal length of 24-105mm, weighing just 395g and sizing up at 88.8mm x 76.6mm, the RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM is ideal for those who want a lens with great focal length versatility but don't have a lot of space in their kit bag nor want a heavy load - often a requirement of travel photographers. The RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM and EOS RP combined weighs a mere 880g - providing an equal lens/camera balance and comfort when capturing Full-Frame quality stills and video on the move.

Adding to its already versatile focal range, the RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM features not only 0.4x life-size magnification but also a new Canon-developed 0.5x Center Focus Macro mode. This mode provides photographers with high magnification at 24mm, resulting in an extremely close 13cm minimum focus distance. As a result, subjects in the centre of the frame are pin-sharp, exposing beautiful hidden detail, and the edges of the image fade away into an attractive blur - perfect for photographers looking to push creative boundaries.

High-performing for stills and video

The RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM boasts Canon's optical excellence and high-speed camera-to-lens communication capabilities seen throughout its RF line-up. With a large rear element and Canon's Super Spectra Coating, enthusiasts can enjoy high optical performance across the frame with minimal ghosting and flare. A specification shared amongst all of Canon's RF lenses, the RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM also sports its own DLO lens correction data profile allowing users to capture stunning images with minimal need for post-processing.

The RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM's STM Autofocus motor also provides fast AF performance for stills and smooth, quiet performance during video capture. Enhanced by 5-stop Image Stabilisation (IS), photographers can be sure capturing steady stills and film whilst on the move is well within their capabilities.

Canon's strong commitment to the RF Mount is apparent with the introduction of the RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM, paired with the development announcement of the RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM, Extender RF 1.4x, and Extender RF 2x, alongside Canon's commitment of releasing five more RF lenses in 2020. What's more, today, Canon Inc. also announces the development of the EOS R5, a Full-Frame camera, set to redefine professional mirrorless - once again showing Canon's commitment to the new, existing, and future users of the EOS System to give a full range of options to users whatever their creative ambitions.

The RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM will be available for purchase both as an individual lens, and as part of a Canon EOS RP kit from April 2020 via official local Canon retailers. Pricing will be set at dealer discretion for the standalone lens and EOS RP + 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM kit. The RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM will be supported in Australia by Canon Australia's 5-year local warranty.
