Aputure Storm 700x Tunable White LED Light

The storm 700x Tunable White LED Light arrives as Aputure's latest point-source LED, offering a tunable-white engine that provides high output in a more compact form factor. Aputure developed the storm 700x upon similar characteristics of the storm 1200x, XT52, and 400x-keeping the brand's proprietary and innovative BLAIR chipset. Meaning not only spectral quality, but superior accuracy in white light reproduction. It combines 700W with smooth dimming technology, multiple control methods, a convenient ProLock Bowens accessory mount, a smart cooling system, and finally, a robust IP65-rated construction for high-end set work under any circumstance. A great lighting solution for filmmakers, cinematographers, and lighting professionals in need of high output and precision white light colour performance in a weather-resistant body. The storm 700x ships with a 35° reflector, a control box, a clamp, head and power cables, and a soft rolling case that packs it all.

BLAIR Light Engine

Aputure keeps its breakthrough BLAIR chipset that features blue, lime, amber, indigo, and red LED emitters to deliver higher brightness levels and colour accuracy levels. With over 70% coverage of the Rec. 2020 colour gamut, the storm 700x is rated 95 for both CRI and TLCI standards. The light also scores an 87 SSI rating at both 3200 and 5600K colour temperatures, as well as TM-30 ratings at Rf 95 and Rg 100, while its advanced five-diode architecture improves the light's colour-matching abilities, resulting in a greater range of CCT than traditional bi-colour fixtures.

Unmatched Flexibility

The full CCT range of 2500 to 10,000K is enhanced with green-magenta colour correction for advanced white-point control. The ±G 100% ASC MITC range green-magenta colour correction seamlessly integrate the fixture in mixed-lighting environments. The unit's daylight 5600K output reaches 16,730 lux at 9.8' when used with the included 35° reflector. Users can opt for max and constant output modes, in addition to high-speed photography, lead-follow, and studio modes.

Advanced Control

The storm 700x comes with a control box that enables smooth dimming and advanced local control functionality. Stepless dimming is available from 0.1 to 100% with four dimming curves: linear, exponential, logarithmic, and S-shaped. Experience wired and wireless control options to find a variety of protocols, including DMX, RDM, CRMX, as well as app control via Bluetooth and the Sidus Link and Sidus Link Pro apps. In terms of DMX, 12 DMX control profiles enable multiple DMX dimming modes and customisable DMX signal loss behaviors. These features seamlessly integrate the fixture into existing lighting workflows, providing lighting technicians and programmers with reliable control over its operation.

Compact Robust Design

The light's rugged construction is IP65 rated for dust and weather resistance, making it suitable for use in even the most demanding environments. To effectively manage heat dissipation, the storm 700x has an active air fan cooling system with four modes: smart, high, medium, and silent. The light also features a ProLock Bowens accessory mount, which makes the storm 700x compatible with a wide range of optional modifiers. It allows for a more secure and optically aligned modifier accessory connection. The light runs on AC power using its included 19.6' long power cable at a standard 100-240V operating voltage.

Lighting effects are paparazzi, fireworks, flickering bulb, cannon, lightning, TV, pulse, flash, explosion, and flame, along with 10 savable presets. The storm 700x is a reliable workhorse for commercial shoots, interviews, and mid-to-large-scale productions. It has a native COB beam angle of 58°, including a 35° reflector, but is also compatible with an optional 25° reflector. The 19.8 x 10.8 x 10.7 " lamp head with yoke weighs 5.15 kg, while the control box weighs approximately 4.08 kg. To conclude, batch firmware updates are possible via Sidus Link, Sidus Link Pro, or USB-A.

Aputure CF10 Fresnel & Barndoors Kit

Optimised for Aputure's separately available storm 700x LED fixture, this CF10 Fresnel & Barndoors Kitcombines a compact Fresnel with a 10" diameter lens, 8-leaf barndoors, and a convenient soft carry case. The CF10 Fresnel intensifies the storm 700x's output by up to two times, reaching up to 56,200 lux at 5600K. It offers a variable beam spread from a 15° spot to a 40° flood with smooth falloff from the center to the edge while maintaining a compact profile.

Essential Accessories

Take advantage of the CF10 Bowens mount Fresnel, convenient 8-leaf barndoors for further light shaping control, and a safety chain for added rigging security. The included soft carry case comfortably fits both the Fresnel and its barndoors.

Compatibility

This kit is optimised for the separately available storm 700x, but it also works with the brand's optional LS 600c Pro II, LS 600c Pro, and storm 400x fixtures.

Aputure Skid for Storm 700x

Place your storm 700x flat on the ground without fear of it tipping over with this Skid from Aputure. Not only does this stainless steel support let you safely place your light on the ground, but it does so while accommodating its head cable and other components. This skid secures to the bottom of the storm 700x and offers a convenient rear cutout for clearance of the storm 700x's head cable while tilting the fixture up and down. This lighting accessory also works well when the separately available CF10 Fresnel with barndoors is attached to the light. This frame also comes in handy at rental houses or on location for use on shelves and carts.
