Overview

Godox AD400Pro II TTL Flash with Lithium-ion Battery

Reliable 400Ws power and control are advantages of the AD400Pro II All-in-One Outdoor Flash from Godox. The brand continues to expand its Witstro series by improving the popular AD400Pro to a second version with group colour indicator capability, a local 2.4" colour screen, and the addition of a larger 30W, bi-color, LED modeling light. The AD400Pro II provides users with customized 1/512 to 1/1 power output, and the flash offers several professional and convenient features, such as full TTL support to work with the auto flash systems of Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Olympus, Sony, Leica, and Pentax cameras. The flash head has a recycle time of 0.1-1 sec and a convenient action-stopping freeze mode. The AD400Pro II weighs in at 1.996 kg, which is similar to its previous model so it is still portable enough to carry around. The bare flash tube, reflector, and detachable battery make the AD400Pro II ideal for outdoor shooting.

Portable Quality Flash Lighting

The versatile AD400Pro II is the perfect flash companion for professionals and beginner photographers working in studios or outdoors. It offers 400Ws with 10 steps of output, ranging from 1/1 to 1/512 in 0.1 increments. The flash's detachable lithium battery pack provides up to 460 full-power flashes, a higher number than the previous AD400Pro. The II version also features a high-speed sync mode that works with shutter speeds up to 1/8000 sec, introducing a convenient freeze mode with flash durations from 1/3470 to 1/27,770 sec for stopping action. Outside of the freeze mode, the AD400Pro II has normal flash durations from 1/230 to 1/16,120 sec.

Built-In 2.4 GHz Wireless X System

Flash functionality can not only be made onboard, but also wirelessly via the head's built-in Godox wireless X system with a range of 328', featuring 16 groups, 32 channels, and 99 IDs. Remote operation requires a separately purchase of trigger. The AD400Pro II is fully compatible with the separately available XPro, XPro II, X2, and X3 models, while a 3.5mm sync port provides a wired sync triggering mode. Although the AD400Pro II is equipped with a 2.4 GHz wireless receiver, it also works with 433 MHz signals by connecting the separately available Godox FR433 via a USB-C port.

Group Colour Functionality for Easy Identification

Just as other popular Godox units, such as the advanced AD600Pro II and the AD200Pro II, the AD400Pro II provides group colour functionality. This means that each of the 16 groups will display a different colour locally on the flash head for easy group identification even from a distance. Godox has improved the physical body of this flash, bringing a more elegant and modern design that enables intuitive local operation. In addition to the group colour capability right at the head of the flash, the AD400Pro II body also has a 2.4" colour screen and a handy rotatable select dial.

Detachable Battery

The flash comes with a 21.6V/2600mAh lithium battery pack that provides up to 460 full-power flashes in outdoor situations and location shooting. Other features include integrated battery level indicators and and power-saving auto-off functionality. Godox conveniently includes the detachable battery, the charger, and the power cord in the box. A carry bag is also supplied to add to the flash's portability.

Stable Colour Temperature

Another setting that Godox maintains from the previous flash version is its stable colour temperature mode, which tightly controls colour to keep temperature changes within +/-75K across the entire power range. With a flash tube at 5800K (+/-200K), the AD400Pro II works great for both studio and location photography and is well-suited for portraits, products, weddings, and other types of shots.

Wide Accessory Compatibility

The head has a proprietary Godox mount, but includes a widely compatible Bowens mount adapter to expand your possibilities when it comes to optional modifiers. Godox also offers optional Broncolour, Profoto, and Elinchrom mount adapters if needed. The flash is compatible with a wide range of optional umbrellas thanks to its integrated umbrella hole, as well as with softboxes in different shapes and various light stands.
