Overview

With a long telephoto focal length, bright f2.8 aperture, VR stabilizer and solid build quality the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f2.8G ED VR II Lens - Second Hand is the weapon of choice for many sports and wildlife photographers and also finds its uses in portraiture and the photojournalism fields. Optically this lens has been constructed for professional use, providing users with sublime images, tack sharp and with shallow depths of field – the results are astonishing. With a long focal length like the 300mm offered on this lens, hand-held shooting can often be incredibly difficult, particularly when a photographer is unable to use a fast shutter speed. Thanks to the VR II stabilizer, the 300mm f2.8 allows the photographer to leave the tripod aside on more occasions than not, able to improve on camera shake and allow shooting at shutter speeds up to 3 stops slower than usually possible. Lift the camera right up to your eye and move along as your subject does; this lens gives you the confidence and freedom to do so thanks to the promise of blur-free results.

The bright f2.8 aperture of the Nikon 300mm lens can be used in combination with the previously discussed stabilization to enable users to shoot in available light conditions, but it is most notable for the shallow depth of field it delivers. Backgrounds can be thrown right out of focus and thanks to the rounded 9-blade diaphragm, the visual appearance of these out of focus areas is beautiful. Stunning portraits with creamy bokeh is a given with this telephoto prime lens.

3 ED Glass elements, Nanocrystal and Nikon super integrated coating

Optically and physically the Nikon 300mm f2.8G ED VR II is constructed for professional use. Serious photographers can feel free to use this lens in the toughest of locations without the threat of failure or damage. Part of the optical construction includes 3 ED Glass elements for exceptional sharpness and reduced chromatic aberration. Nikon Super integrated coating is included as is Nano crystal coating, both of which reduce the appearance of internal reflections, ghosting and flare – you do not need to waste your time inspecting your results for signs of imperfection, you are not going to find any.
