Module 8 L1 Tuner Variable Look Lens Attachment - Sony E Mount

Have you ever wanted your dramatically lit film to look just like The Godfather, which was shot with Super Baltar lenses, but you are using a mirrorless digital camera? The L1 Tuner Variable Look Lens Attachment from Module 8 was designed just for that. The L1 Tuner was created to mount your PL-mount and EF-mount lens onto your E-mount camera to provide the soft, warm glow of a classic, vintage lens, such as The Baltar. Thanks to a clever design, you no longer have to settle for permanent (and possibly damaging) detuning since this adapter allows you to adjust your look on the spot.

Tuner Basics

The Tuner provides standard EF-mount and PL-mount lenses and mirrorless digital cameras to emulate the look of vintage glass, so you don't have to track down a classic cinema lens.

It makes your lens capture the look of a classic lens and provides manual control over the strength of the look without refocusing, reshimming, or changing the lens.

VariTune Technology

The Tuner features Module 8 VariTune technology, which allows you to avoid actual detuning of your lens. Detuning takes a long time to experiment with different looks, only supports high-end PL mount lenses, and doesn't support autofocus lenses. When using the Tuner with your own lens, VariTune technology allows you to set up the look you want in minutes, supports EF and PL mounts, allows you to tune an unlimited number of looks, and supports autofocus.

Design

The Tuner adapter is constructed with optical glass and an aluminium casing for durability. It features a standard 0.8 MOD cine gear, a 70° adjustment dial range, and a 1/4"-20 support bracket thread. You can also update the Tuner's firmware using the integrated USB port.

L1 Tuner

Inspired by Bausch & Lomb's classic Super Baltar lens, the L1 Tuner emulates the same soft, warm glow with a creamy halation across the entire frame with consistent roll-off. The VariTune technology allows you to maintain focus while adjusting the look strength.

Compatibility

The L1 Tuner is currently only compatible with Canon, Tamron, and Sigma lenses, including pro EF Cine lenses.

It is compatible with, but not limited to, the following cameras:

Sony a7S III, a1, a7R IV, FX3, FX30, FX6, FX9, VENICE
