Celestron Ultima 8x42mm Porro Prism Binoculars

Sporting a moderate magnification and larger objectives, the Celestron 8x42 Ultima Porro Binoculars are a general-purpose optic for mid-to long-range use, even in challenging lighting conditions.

The large lenses draw in a generous amount of light and, combined with 8x power, translate to a wide exit pupil that will completely cover most pupils in low-light conditions, such as those at dawn or dusk, and when peering into heavy brush or canopies. Complementing these performance features are anti-reflection fully coated optics, a wide field of view, and a traditional Porro prism optical path that all work together to produce an immersive and comfortable observational experience that is defined by bright, clear high-contrast views with accurate colour rendition and a rich depth of field.

For long-duration glassing sessions, to reduce arm fatigue, or to eliminate vibrations, the Ultima can be tripod mounted using an optional adapter. The optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging, and its chassis is made of a lightweight and durable aluminium alloy and wrapped in a protective slip-resistant synthetic rubber armour. Fold-down rubber eyecups mould themselves to your eye sockets to block stray peripheral light for brighter views without intrusive side glare, and the binoculars' centre-focusing wheel is also slip-resistant to make precision focusing fast and easy.

Optical Performance

Moderate 8x power magnifies the view while ensuring a wide field of view and exit pupil

42mm objective lens diameter provides competent low-light performance without adding excessive bulk and weight for easier handling

Traditional Porro prism optical path presents a rich depth of field to produce lifelike views

BAK4 prism glass delivers a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortion

Anti-reflection fully coated optics improve light transmission, colour rendition, clarity, and contrast

Wide 60° apparent angle of view presents an immersive observational experience

395-foot field of view at 1000 yards

Use and Handling

The slip-resistant centre-focusing wheel is easy to manipulate, even when wearing gloves

±4 right-eye dioptric correction range enables precise focusing even for those who normally require corrective eyewear

50-74mm interpupillary distance adjustment range enables easy use by a wide variety of people

Fold-down rubber eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewear

Integrated 1/4"-20 mounting socket for an optional tripod adapter to limit arm fatigue and vibrations

Long 18mm eye relief increases viewing comfort and reduce eyestrain, especially during long glassing sessions

Wide 5.25mm exit pupil will cover pupils as they open and fully dilate in low light and ensures the entire scene remains in view without vignetting
