Expanding the Aputure tunable white lighting lineup, the compact Storm 400x LED Monolight is a point-source workhorse, matching a powerful full-spectrum chipset with advanced dimming, professional colour accuracy, a widely adaptable Bowens mount, and robust, IP65 construction for high-end set work under any circumstance.

The Blair Chip Project

The Storm family of LED monolights features Aputure's breakthrough Blair chipset with blue, lime, amber, indigo, and red LEDs that deliver higher brightness levels and colour accuracy levels. Rated 95 for both CRI and TLCI standards, the Storm 400x light also scores an 87 SSI rating at 3200 and 5600K colour temperatures, and the multicolour diodes improve the light's colour-matching abilities. The full CCT range of 2500 to 10,000K is enhanced with green-magenta colour correction for advanced white-point control, and the unit's daylight 5600K output reaches 64,600 lux at 3.3' when used with the included 35° reflector.

Advanced Dimming and Connectivity

The Storm 400x comes with a controller that enables advanced dimming, control, and functionality. Stepless dimming is available from 0.1 to 100%, and flicker-free, colour-accurate operation is possible even at the light's lowest output. Wired and wireless options offer users a variety of control protocols, including DMX, LumenRadio CRMX, Art-Net, and sACN Ethernet, and app control via Bluetooth and the Sidus Link and Sidus Link Pro apps to integrate the light into professional lighting workflows.

Build and Performance

The light's rugged construction is IP65 rated for dust and weather resistance, making it suitable for use in even the most demanding environments. The light features a Bowens S mount, allowing the Storm 400x the broad suite of Bowens-compatible modifiers with easy coupling and secure locking.
