Sony FE 16-35mm F4 PZ G Lens

Sony FE 16-35mm F4 PZ G Lens

The Sony FE 16-35mm F4 PZ G Lens packs Sony's vast experience and expertise in lens design into the world's lightest full-frame wide-angle power-zoom lens with a constant F4 aperture, delivering outstanding performance and control. The advanced design of this compact, lightweight lens achieves imaging performance that has become the hallmark Sony G lenses. The optical path includes two AA (advanced aspherical) elements, a standard aspherical element, one Super ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and one ED glass elements, and one ED aspherical element. All these ensure chromatic and spherical aberration is controlled for excellent optical performance.

All New Electronic Zoom

For the first time in an α lens, zoom control is powered by the SELP1635G's XD (Extreme Dynamic) Linear autofocus motors. Utilising the XD Linear Motors for zoom drive achieves unprecedented efficiency in actuator design and responsiveness. Subtle zoom ring rotations are precisely detected and immediately converted to actual zoom operation so that the user's intent is faithfully reproduced. Additionally, the maximum zoom speed across the lens's full range is approximately twice that of previous models1. A zoom lever is mounted on the lens barrel for true power-zoom operability.

XD Linear Motors for AF and Zoom

For another first in an α lens, the SELP1635G uses six (6) XD Linear Motors to drive both zoom and autofocus, delivering exceptionally fast, responsive and reliable AF with quiet and low-vibration operation.

World's lightest F4 wide-angle PZ lens

Benefiting from the very latest advances in design and manufacturing technology, the SELP1635G is the world's lightest F4 wide-angle power-zoom lens. Incredibly this is achieved without any imaging compromises.

Superior Mobility, control, and reliability

The compact SELP1635G features focus, zoom and aperture rings in a design that maximises control and versatility for movies and stills. Additionally an Iris Lock switch has been added to prevent accidental changes.
