The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 is a professional-grade inkjet printer designed for photographers, artists and graphic designers. The PRO-1000 features major technological advancements including an updated print head, improved ink set and a superior image processing engine for delivering exceptional results and enhanced efficiencies.

Improved Precision with 1.28” Print Head

With its 1.28” print head the imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 provides an enhanced level of efficiency in printing. The print head features 18,432 nozzles and a built-in non-firing nozzle detection system that can identify blocked nozzles and switch in other nozzles to prevent banding. It supports both automatic and manual head gap adjustments and includes colour calibration notification functions for enhancing printing efficiencies.

The print head delivers a high-quality A2 photo print in a mere six minutes. The L-COA PRO Image Processing System allows correct balance and mixing of inks, with an exact placement of ink droplets, reducing processing time and supporting controlled accuracy in prints.

Each ink tank has its own line which results in less wastage of ink and time while switching between Photo and Matte Black inks; nor is there any wastage due to excess purging of lines. The ink is laid down in four picolitre droplets to give you maximum detail. The printer's maintenance tank collects the droplets that escape during printing and is user-replaceable to further improve ink economy.

High-Quality Printing with LUCIA PRO Ink

The imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 provides high quality prints with the Lucia Pro Ink system. It includes 12 pigment-based tanks, each containing 80ml of ink, reducing the amount of refills required and improving the cost per print. The updated ink delivers a wide colour gamut, smooth gradations and improved expression in dark areas. Separate ink tanks for yellow, magenta, cyan, photo magenta, photo cyan, red and blue ensure excellent colour reproduction and a broad dynamic range.

A range of black inks are also available to equip you with the ability to fine-tune your monochrome images. Photo black, matt black, grey and photo grey help cater for your precise black and white print requirements.

A Chroma Optimiser resin is included for reducing gaps between ink droplets and delivering an even finish with consistent glossiness. The optimiser resin also controls surface reflections for natural-looking colours while preventing bronzing.

Silicon oil added to the LUCIA PRO ink increases abrasion resistance for reduced scratching, resulting in increased print volumes.

Improved Paper Handling

An advanced paper feed and roller system uses a vacuum air feeding method to facilitate improved paper handling and reduced paper movement during the printing process. A paper feed detection and correction system minimises the occurrence of paper misfeeds.

The printer offers two feed paths; the main rear tray for is for papers with normal thickness, and a manual feed slot which accepts 'fine art' papers and specialty media (such as canvas) between 0.1 and 0.17 mm thick (up to 400 gsm). The maximum printable length is 594mm.

Intuitive Software Solutions

The included software features an updated version of Canon's Print Studio Pro Plugin which interfaces with most widely-used editing software suites including Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements and Lightroom.

The Print Studio Pro delivers simplified management of formats, layouts, colour management settings, colour matching controls, sharpness, contrast colour levels, and much more. Pattern printing is also available for printing variations of different settings in a nine-row, five-column grid of thumbnails.

Other software includes the Device Management for managing multiple printers through a single console, a Quick Utility Tool Box, a Media Configuration Tool and Account Manager Software for calculating the cost per print when used in commercial scenarios.

Built-In Connectivity

The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 printer has built-in Ethernet and wireless connectivity to enable network printing from a range of devices including laptops, PCs, tablets, smartphones and cameras.
