The Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K brings the power and functions of larger cinema cameras to a portable and lightweight body. Featuring a full-sized MFT (micro four thirds) sensor (18.96mm x 10.00mm) capable of recording 4096 x 2160 DCI video at 60 fps, the camera can also record slow-motion up to 120 fps in cropped 1080P HD mode. The Micro Four Thirds lens mount is compatible with the original, lightweight Pocket Cinema Camera lenses, and can be used with PL, C, EF, and other lenses with adapters. A dual-native ISO of 100 up to 25,600 improves low-light performance, and 13 stops of dynamic range provides rich HDR images.
The Blackmagic Cinema Camera 4K records internally onto SD and CFast 2.0 cards, as well as being able to record externally through the full-sized HDMI and USB-C ports available. When using UHS-II SD cards, recording is possible at 4K in ProRes at up to 60 frames per second, and RAW at up to 30 frames per second. Recording onto CFast 2.0 cards increases the limit to 12-bit RAW at all supported frame rates. HDMI output is supported up to 1080p 60fps at 4:2:2 10 bit, while output from the USB-C expansion port allows for recording onto external SSDs with no recording limit, at 12-bit RAW 4K at all supported frame rates.
The camera features built-in professional high fidelity audio recording, with a mini XLR input with 48 volts of phantom power, as well as a 3.5mm stereo audio jack. The Blackmagic Cinema Camera 4K also includes built-in stereo microphones with a low noise floor for capturing sound on location.
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K uses the same advanced Blackmagic operating system as URSA Mini, supporting many of the same professional features found on larger cameras. The camera includes a large 5-inch modern touchscreen interface that uses simple tap and swipe gestures to adjust settings, add metadata and view recording status. The Blackmagic OS gives you control of advanced camera features including 3D LUTs for both recording and monitoring, HDR output via HDMI, metadata entry, custom presets, extended video format, Bluetooth remote control, external timecode from the audio input, RAW recording and more.
