Overview

The dark blue 8x42 H2O Porro Prism Binoculars are ideal for mid- to long-range glassing, especially on the water, where you need to be able to clearly see buoys and navigational markers. This combination of magnification and objective lens size produces a wide exit pupil and long eye relief that, when combined with the generous field of view, helps to reduce the disorientation that is common when looking through binoculars on rough water or rolling seas.

Bushnell 8x42 H2O Porro Prism Binocularss (Dark Blue)

The dark blue 8x42 H2O Porro Prism Binoculars are ideal for mid- to long-range glassing, especially on the water, where you need to be able to clearly see buoys and navigational markers. This combination of magnification and objective lens size produces a wide exit pupil and long eye relief that, when combined with the generous field of view, helps to reduce the disorientation that is common when looking through binoculars on rough water or rolling seas.

They are outfitted with traditional Porro prisms that allow you to more easily discern the relative distances between two objects in your view and anti-reflection multicoatings that maximize light transmission to deliver bright, sharp, and clear high-contrast views with accurate color rendition and crisp resolution across the wide field of view. To withstand the harsh conditions associated with salt water environments, the chassis is made of corrosion-resistant aluminum and the optical tubes are nitrogen-filled to resist internal fogging and O-ring sealed to an IPX7 waterproof rating.

Optical Performance

  • Moderate 8x magnification brings subjects in close for viewing without sacrificing exit pupil or eye relief
  • 42mm objective lenses boost light-gathering ability versus compact models for improved low-light performance without the bulk of larger objectives
  • Traditional Porro prism design offers you a rich depth of field to more easily discern the distance between two objects in your field of view
  • BAK4 prisms deliver a round exit pupil, and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortion
  • Anti-reflection fully multicoated optics maximize light transmission while improving color rendition, contrast, and clarity
  • Apparent angle of view approaches wide angle to minimize the disorientation that is common when looking through binoculars on rough and rolling water and presents an immersive observational experience
  • Spacious 390-foot field of view at 1000 yards

Use and Handling

  • Textured and slip-resistant center focusing knob is easy to use even in cold and wet conditions or while wearing gloves
  • Right-eye dioptric correction dial helps to compensate for individual optical prescription
  • Twist-up eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewear
  • Long 18mm eye relief presents a generous eye box that improves viewing comfort with reduced eye strain
  • Comfortable 5.25mm exit pupil will cover most pupils as they open and dilate in low light and ensures the entire scene remains in view without vignetting

Construction Details

  • Ecologically friendly glass is responsibly sourced and made without using lead or arsenic
  • Porro prism design makes them naturally balanced and comfortable to hold
  • Lightweight and durable aluminum alloy chassis
  • Nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof to a rating of IPX7 and resistant to internal fogging
  • Chassis armor protects against impacts
  • Aggressive texture on the armor and raised palm pads offer a comfortable and slip-resistant grip
